The problem where lots of people get turned away is more normally caused by someone who is a bit keen on photoshop!
Or by miscommunication between the distributor and the cinema - we all had to move screens last year for The Wolfman in Nottingham as they'd put us in one that was way too small...0 -

Thanks GB, but I have just checked an old SFF ticket - which does clearly state:-
"No late admission. Strictly first come first served. Admission at managers discretion...."
The tickets from Disney do not mention it being a race between ticket holders to get in.
This is the second time that a screening has been full, up to half an hour before the screening time.
I think perhaps we have some forgers/photo copiers at work here in my area .... there were certainly enough talk a while back about how easy certain posters found it to manufacture a ticket for themselves !0 -
Hopefully everyone will now know all tickets unless stated are first come first served with no allocated seats. Get there early to make sure you get a seat.
Unless the cinema's had a way of proving each ticket was real then we'll always have forgers of some kind - but to be fair the process of checking each individual ticket against a machine and against ID and then getting everyone in would be a lot slower and the cinemas might not wanna take part as it would slow down the customers who've actually paid to see a film.
As other posters have mentioned above it might be worth drop the distributors and the likes an email and see what they come back with. If it's a free ticket for another move.. let us know0 -

I think in the case of Tangled there has clearly been some kind of !!!!-up on the website. Was this the showing that people couldn't retrieve their tickets for? I reckon something went wrong which resulted in too many tickets being given out.
I think they slightly over allocate because of people getting tickets and then not using them, but like you most of the time my screenings are not full, a couple of times they have been full but I have been going for years too and must have seen hundreds of these and you could count the full screenings on one hand. Saying that Morning Glory last week at Trafford Centre had no seats left. I think the more people find out about these free screenings the more this is going to happen.
I attended Manchester screening of Tangled this morning and was 2/3rd full at most. I thought this was a really good film and would definitely recommend, one of the best Disney flms I have seen.0 -

when it was seefilmfirst, they had a list of names, and checked you off when you arrived, so they would know if you have legitimate tickets or not

I wonder why they stopped

We saw Tangled at Rochdale this morning - great film. There was a queue for the cinema to open at 10 for the film at 10.30 and the screening was full. I KNOW it's a kids' film, but goodness, can parents not teach kids these days to at least whisper in the cinema? The family immediately behind us ate from crunchy, crispy, noisy bags the WHOLE way through the film, as did most of the cinema. Really irritating.
Good film though!******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
