Gap insurance was offered but declined, found it on the net for 1/3 of price. found tyre info on car forums.0

BMW do not give details of their tyre cover on their website which is a bit unusual, I suspect the policy expires when you sell the car if it is before the term of insurance expires0

Thanks Dacouch, i will quiz saleman for more details.

Ask for anything he tells you in writing as they have a habit of either telling fibs or not knowing what they are selling. They should be able to give you a Summary of Cover / Key Facts which is an easy to understand overview or a Policy Wording which is the policy booklet0 -

Run flats are non-repairable and the suspension is tuned for these heavy tyres.
Also insurance companiews view fitting "normal tyres" as a modification, they would need to be informed.
I've never heard so much bollox in my life...! Where did the Salesman work before BMW? KwikFit...?
On a less sarcastic note: Payy £300 for tyre insurance or pay erm £140 for a new tyre...?! Durrrrrrrrrrrr.............0 -
OP, look at it this way. I've a 4 yr old 3 series with runflats and I've changed all 4 tyres once in that time. At around £120 per corner, that's £480 compared to £1200 you would have paid in that period. You do the maths.
If you need an specific advice regarding putting normal boots on a BMW have a look over on www.bmwland.co.uk.0 -
Thanks for the replies

Tyre insurance and a car which has had its suspension tuned for heavy tyres.
The only thing that I can think of right now, is that you have bought Lewis Hamilton's 2009 F1 car.0 -
What's the betting the tyre insurance has a sliding scale of payout depending on how worn the tyre is.
Interestingly, I bought some tyres from Elite in Rainham last week. In their invoice wallet it said that Vredestein tyres have free road hazard warranty subject to level of wear. So if you need tyres and need free insurance then find a tyre dealer that supplies Vredestein. The man without a signature.0
