Thanks Dusty....looking foreward to it now as feels like less pressure than doing it for college.
Did a bit of placement when I was in college MANY YEARS AGO, doing btec in nursery nursing, so feel like I have a little bit of a head start(placement wise) xx

    evening everyone
    been a lovely sunny day
Ok not too bad for my first day, I reckon.
Cleaned out my cupboard and some of the pans at the back had mouldy spots all over them. The bottom back corner looks as though it's damp, possibly water coming in from broken tile / rotten gutters directly above that bit fo the kitchen. We're in rented house and the gutters are due to be replaced any day now but the unit isn't getting replaced - does anyone have any ideas how I can dry out the cupboard / fix it / bodge it to stop my pans getting mouldy again?! Any help greatly appreciated :A
not sure I can suggest anything that helpful petal - but obviously if there is a damp problem with the gutters etc you need to get that seen to - in the meantime what about these little throw_away condensation/damp collectors - you know the ones filled with a gel stuff - i get them in poundland for my hall cupboard and they do work. might work as an interim measure?

sammr85 thats lovely news - congratulations!
Aunty Crafty great news - lets hope the weather holds and he gets on with the job - everything crossed for you xx
Mumto5 it wasnt meant to be honey - I am sure there will be another chance. hope you feel better very soon.
seafarers_wife - I can see both sides but being in the position I am in I would be saying to him 'you dont know whats ahead- go for it while you can' but anyway - you could try to make more payments towards your loan -maybe sell some stuff on ebay and put the money towards it - every little helps bring that day nearer???? go on an economy drive to really try to get rid of the loan and then the car loan.
piggers oh no not more bad news - sorry to hear about your uncle's friend. Are you feeding that wean enough?:rotfl: only joking! And yes going to bed at an earlier regular time for a few weeks might help you!
delicious ok honey bunch chin up first - your bedroom sounds ...not nice...! now unfortunately you will not get it sorted in a few days so be prepared for it to be an ongoing project and why not draw what you want or cut out some pics from a mag and pin them up in the bedroom so you can see them and hopefully they will inspire you to do something. I dont know your financial staus and dont want to be nosey but could you afford to get paint for the walls? if decorating is a long way off in the meantime what about new curtains - cheap and cheerful or check out the charity shops for replacements - wash the landlords ones and put them away so that when you move out you can put them back up and he wont be charging for replacements!
As for the rug - is it horrible or grubby or what? you could clean it and offer it back to whoever gave it to you saying you are going to be doing up your room and it wont fit the colour scheme or you can just get rid (maybe good enough for a charity shop?) Even splashing a little on a new rug will brighten the room up and you!!
I wish i had been around ealier so I am hoping you didnt put everything on the bed because chances are later on in the day you would just shove it back on the floor! as polly said go around the room and get rid of any obvious rubbish - spend as long as you can just putting stuff away in its proper place dont just move it to another room or spot on the floor - deal with it properly - and if thats all you do this week its a great start - try very hard to keep on to off putting the stuff away and then next week you will have a clear floor to vacuum and once you have changed the bed as well it will make a huge difference - keep us posted what you manage or what you plan to do - your bedroom is a very important place so try and work on it.

get well soon wishes to nattyt, Jennyjewell and anyone else I have missed (((hugs)))

Mudbath hope stripes has been resting and the leg is healing again xx
LadyL special love and hugs right back at you my lovely friendxxxx

    Sarah Joanne
well done - you are making great progress and soon it will become a habit that you wont have to think about:T
lav nice to see you - was wondering where you had gone - my list is just fine dont you worry your little head about it! just you concentrate on bubbs and getting yourself back on your feet. (((hugs)))
sockdrawer well done getting rid of the gibble - decluttering makes a huge difference.
    QUOTE=Craftyscholar;37233212]Good to see you Lady-L.
Sadly I think many of us assume there will always be tomorrow to do all the things we want to do and that we will always be able to do them.[/QUOTE]
oh Aunty how very very true - we need to live each day to the limits not always possible or doable but we should try! xxxxx

    Afternoon all

Yikes another day has gone by, time is going farrrrrrrrr to quickly. That or someone has stolen some of my hours!
ahem!!! does that mean you have missed yet another opportunity to get in the RoD??????????????????????????????????????? were we farming perhaps?:p:p:p:p:p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
PenPen its spooky but when Dusty posted I immediately thought of the words from William Morris and lo and behold there you had it in your siggy - its a very good saying and I think I must adopt it more.:D
tooch honey I dont mean to offend you but I think you are expecting too much of yourself at home and when you dont manage it you get fed up and downhearted. Its great news that you will be going into help at the school classes so why dont you pretend that you are already doing it and see how it affects your time - make yourself a timetable of where you will be and when and then see how you will fit in your housework AND YOUR STUDYING!!!!! and try to stick to it!!
Boddy how sad for your DB - hope they had a safe trip home - they brought sunshine back up here!!!! Hope you can help DD - big (((hugs))) to you both xx

was at at Cornhill today - we had a great talk and DVD from one of the Blythswood volunteers about the Christmas shoeboxes and then after lunch I saw my dietician - I so desperately need help.

when i got home I took myself to the post office with 16 packages of ebay sales - lucky they werent huge!

have just been catching up here this evening so it will soon be bed now!

love and hugs to you all
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last
