            I'm guessing you're a United 'fan'?
Not a fan of the United that you're thinking of. Trust me though, I can tell you a thing about under-performing players and crap owners. Liverpool have been positively blessed compared to the people we've had steering the ship at Elland Road.
Kuyt hard working? I must have imagined him being sat on his !!!!! as Clint Dempsey ran rings around what was left of the Liverpool defence at Craven Cottage last year. And let's face it, it's one thing to work hard and very much another to be good enough in the first place. After all, I'm sure that you can find plenty of players at St Helens Town who will "work hard" but there's a reason why they aren't playing in the Premier League.
Glen Johnson hasn't justified his price tag and is guilty of some ridiculous basic errors. I've seen better positional sense in the Northern Counties East League.
As for Ngog, I'll stand by my judgement. The man just isn't good enough for a club that had ideals of being a top three side.
The players at Anfield clearly aren't good enough. That isn't the fault of the owners. If the coffers are bare it is as much down to the poor, ridiculous and downright comical decisions made by Rafa Benetiz during his tenure. The man stayed a season too long. He should have been shown the door after you bottled the 08/09 season.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. To be fair the 08/09 season was the best we'd had in a very long time and I disagree that Benitez should have been given the shove then. At the end of that season, everyone believed that the 09/10 season was going to be the one. That we'd win the games we'd previously drawn and finally win the long awaited title. Unfortunately, because of one reason or another, and ultimately because we let Alonso go, that didn't happen. Rafa was let go at the right time.
It saddens me to think that we may become like Leeds one day. A once decent team now floating mid table in the Championship. Still, I'm an optimistic, and I hope & pray that day won't come.Be Kind, Work Hard, Stay Humble, Smile Often, Keep Honest, Stay Loyal, Travel When Possible, Never Stop Learning, Be Thankful Always and Love0

Don't blame the Americans, it was your previous manager who p*ssed away the money on god awful players. You have a half decent first team and then nothing whatsoever, hence the early cup exit to Northampton.
I have plenty of Scouse supporting mates, yet even they seem to worship the ground Rafa walks on because of the Champions league win with another mans team.
Put up with it O.P., Hodgson will get you where you want to be in time, but you will have another season like this before the decline stops. Blame Rafa.Pants0

I'm a bit torn on Babel tbh. Sometimes we comes in off the bench and he can transform the game. He gives us an extra something. However, there have been times when he's started (after a previously good appearance) and he's been non-existent. Babel's inconsistency is what worries me about him.Be Kind, Work Hard, Stay Humble, Smile Often, Keep Honest, Stay Loyal, Travel When Possible, Never Stop Learning, Be Thankful Always and Love0

As a supporter of a "non top 6 team" in the premiership I cant find much sympathy as the emotions you are feeling/suffering are the same ones that I feel for my team EVERY year, and im sure that fans of the other 13 "non top 6 teams" feel every year.
It will do you good to have to worry about your team possibly going down for a change, might make you appreciate what its like for us every year LOL0

Whils the americans and their financial mucking about don't help the stability of the club, you have to lay the blame squarely on Rafa for the clubs current selection of poor players - he threw such a lot of money down the drain on average players - they're all listed above, Glen Johnson, Aquilani, Ngog and so on. Rafa should have been long gone middle of last season when it was all crumbling spectacularly.
Problem as I see it is that Rafa built the team around 2 or 3 decent individuals, Gerrard, Torres, Kuyt. The rest of the team are entirely average and if the three big hitters aren't performing we simply can't compete as was shown last season and is showing again.
For some reason, Liverpool is still thought of as a 'big' club, but increasingly this seems to not be the case anymore. Hodgson is a good manager, but I wonder how long he'll be given and how much coin he'll have to turn things around - I suspect not enough time and money leading to him leaving fairly soon and continued instability.0

Rafa Benitez is definitely to blame for Liverpool's current predicament. What a state they are in, and it was a cross between
 a) Benitez's very bad transfers, not just Keane & Aquilani but all the 'reserve' players he brought in - apparently Liverpool had 74 players in their squad when Hodgson took over - Bloated & wage overload!
 b) His cold, very poor man management. To upset such an important player (Alonso) by trying to sell him one summer because he wanted Gareth Barry, and then not getting Barry, doing a U-Turn and keeping Alonso, who then decided that was it and wanted to leave, Is terrible management. The treatment of Robbie Keane was also dreadful. Then there was Gerrard who said he hadn't spoken to Benitez about anything other than football since he'd known him. Bizarre!
 c) Benitez rant at Alex Ferguson during the crunch time of that title challenge season was a massive error. His team dropped points after points from then on. He also alienated many of the other managers in the league, e.g. Sam Allardyce & Jose Mourinho. Lost a lot of respect. Wenger sometimes does it to, but he still has the respect of the other managers. So maybe the players lost respect for Benitez as well.
Hodgson's a nice guy, a solid manager and needs time to clean up rafa's mess. Liverpool and possibly Manchester United will need to get used to not winning things from now on as Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Spurs look more likely to dominate. Especially City.0

Tried not to mention the pool word at work this morning, as we have the closet scouser in the next dingo pen. But then someone mentioned the illuminations in a seaside resort and blah blah blah blah.
Said closet scouser was soon so fed up, he herded to the tea machine for a sulk.0
