For my Christmas muffin mixes I purchased full size wooden spoons in a local discount store for 19p each, then chopped 4" off the handle and sanded the end so it was smooth again. A pain but they look much nicer when they're dinky......

You do know if you sell food you will need a certificate and you will also need to be registered with the council

I have to be honest and say 'has anyone died yet from eating a biscuit or cake from a school fair?'

Not having a pop, but it seems a bit ridiculous!

I know what you mean you cant even sell things now with sweets and chocolate's in unless you have the certificate so for a lot of my friends who used to make snowman soup now cant so silly

I live in Essex and not one fair I have organised or had stalls at or had friends have stalls at has requested this.

It really does make crafting or goodwill hard. We would struggle to get cakes on bake days if this were mandatory at schools.

But I suspect there will always be one do gooder on any PTA who will pat themselves on the back for thinking of this. It's probably how the HSE started.lol.

I rang my local council and they said that doing the odd thing for one or two events is ok as long as it is low risk food. i.e. it doesnt use fresh cream etc.
  • been looking back over some of the pages I missed and am interested in the microfibre dogs a poster mentioned. I am looking for things for us to sell at our Scout Christmas fair and these would be a nice change from the reindeer. Can anyone help with instructions, had a look but cant seem to find anything. TIA

I made about 50 to sell for charity and they sold very well.

I bought some of the cloths in Poundland, 3 in a pack, but they came up quite small. Wilko's cloths are a better size, but more expensive.

  • Hi all,

Does anyone have the ditty for the Perfect Man? Tried coming up with one of my own and it's just not working! I found one on the internet, but it's very "American" and I'm not sure it is suitable.

    Thanks in advance. x
