Aww my craft fayre was a major disappointment-only made £25. I'm not too disappointed as I've sold nearly £200 worth of stuff at my boyfriends work-Think it was just the wrong place! Just gutted i have loads of stuff left over. Had lots of people looking just not buying!! Anyway, hope others have had more luck this Xmas! X0

If anyone wants to keep their kids occupied, get them to make one of these

I just made one from an Ikea catalogue and it takes quite a while but looks effective.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

My cake carry case and sweetie jar turned out well- apart from the fact I had the stupid idea of using superglue. Never again. Glue dots from now on!0

Happy Christmas all
Do you think if I start this week I might actually have some hand crafted presents for next year instead of just good intentions!! Although I did sew my beautiful 11 week old babies christmas stocking so it could have been worse

Hi there,
I have just discovered this thread, it's great and seems loads of fun! I have recently started making greetings cards from my photography and hope to start going to craft fayres and the like to sell if I can get a stall anywhere.
I was thinking of making a few other crafty bits just to have a bit more than just cards on my stall and was wondering do you need a food hygiene certificate if you're just doing things like the reindeer poop where you're not actually making the product but rebagging it? How about simple things like the chocolate spoons?
Also do you all have insurance when doing craft fayres? I understand that you should do but if I do only say a couple a year (I am literally just starting out and don't know if I'll have time for more with full time work) then it seems like I won't make any profit after paying for it all!
Also do you guys register as a business if just selling at a few craft fayres and maybe a few sales through facebook? I don't intend to make much money out of it, it's more a hobby but do I need to register?
Sorry for all the newbie questions, any advice is much appreciated!
Thanks!0 -
I would also love to know the answers to the above questions as I think I am in the same situation as you.Looking forward to new ventures :beer:0
