  • I have been reading this thread for ages....loved it!
I am self-employed, making jewellery and greetings cards and I looked here for some ideas for other things to make for gifts for family and friends :)

Woohoo finally found some extra strongs mints today in packs of 5 so bought 2. And I have made the chocolates they are scrummy, next time I think I will crush the mints to within an inch of their life as I wouldn't want to break anyone's teeth. I had some nice ice cube trays (silicon type) so they came out really easily, next time I am going to try and add some fresh orange juice to make little chocolate oranges as one of the trays looks like a slice of orange.

DON'T add orange juice to melted chocolate, it will seize and become lumpy. You could try oil based flavourings. Or you could make chocolate orange truffles. I think I have a recipe somewhere for those (I make truffles every Christmas; think my family are getting sick of them now, hahaha!) I will post it if I find it :)

Hi Everyone!! Hope you are all well.
I made some Elf Poop, Santas Kisses and Reindeer food for my Christmas Fairs, and Didnt really sell many at all. I dont have any more fairs to go to , so wondered if anyone would like some? There are pics on my homepage.

Just send me a PM if you are interested (They would be free of course!)

Bless you what a sweet idea but I am now getting worried that I won't sell any of my own on Sunday  Lots of people seem to be posting that they're hardly selling anything and the panic is setting in.
Could you offer it to a local Childrens Hospital or something similar?

hi golden anemone have you tried ikea sometimes they have the bottles with the poppers attached to them or lakekand in boucher road i have got new jamjars from them.

Thanks craftyfox - Lakeland and Ikea don't have small enough bottles. I'll use the little wine bottles again. Drinking the wine is a sacrifice I'll just have to make! :p

  • My main problem is I don't drive and my gifts aren't small enough to take a bus etc. my husband is working all weekend so I couldn't go on craft fair yesterday (the one that was cancelled) No school in my area is organizing a school fair or similar no play group.. :( I think I'll try to organise something next year myself lol as it's seems to be a good idea and maybe ppl would like to come :)

I hear a lot of nice comments but as you know it's always like this "oh it's so nice, lovely etc " but that's all they don't buy :( I've even tried on car boot sale few weeks ago and I sold 1 !! cake and it wasn't Xmas one lol

Now I have pints of socks, sock cupcakes, wash cloths cupcakes, cloth reindeers nappy cakes, towel cakes, gift baskets some bags of sweets and ES decorations so I hope I will sell something as I'll have to eat the rest :( Luckyly not everything is tipically Xmas so hope to sell sth on other occasions like Bdays or Valentines day lol
