Fab makes as always ladies. After the 2 poorly attended craft fairs i tried i decided not to bother doing anymore .My grandaughters school were having a xmas fair yesterday and they were struggling a bit with donations due to the weather . So on monday my oh and my son delivered everything i'd made to my grandaughters astounded but delighted teacher. She loves the sweetie jars mine were mini kilner jars all 48 of them. Plus they took all the es mints, reindeer poop ,fairy poop and snowman poop plus 24 flannel reindeer , reindeer food, perfect men, doggy treats and loads of other stuff. . The kids love the doggy treats they had great fun getting them all ready for the xmas fair yesterday .
They have a stall with lucky jars which are just small jars you can fill with anything and they put a raffle ticket on top of each then you pay £1 choose a ticket and get the matching numbered jars. The head gives a prize to the class who collects the most lucky jars and class 1 won for the first time ever it's usually class 6 .lol
So thank you to everyone for sharing all the fab ideas especially helen for starting this thread . You've all helped to make the xmas fair at Kaitlyns school a big success and some very happy children.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Well done Crafty Granny - bet the school are very happy!
I need advice. Been asked to do individual items to go on the dinner table.
Thinking of fudge or truffles and perhaps a handmade container with names on.
Has anyone done something similar and do you have any suggestions / links / pictures please?

Has anyone found little bottles for sloe gin? Last year I bought some small 175ml red wine bottles and drank the wine. I don't make enough to give larger bottles away.
Morrisons do the small bottles of wine, you could aoays treat yourself again, we get a huge bottle every year from a friend, she lives in the country and is surrounded by sloe berries, it takes your head off but does the trick :-)Thrifty Gifty Money Making =£280 Sealed pot challenge 1192 Toluna = 77339 Bingoport = £10 redeemed + 33470 -

Me too - a lurker that is! I am currently taking a break from making 60 bags of reindeer food so thought I'd finally be able to answer someone!kingsland61 wrote: »I am a 'Lurker' and not a poster but I have been reading this thread from the start and it is fabulous! I am about tomake some Reindeer Food and I thought I had taken a copy of the label that has been used - unfortunately I cannot find it and now I can't find any of the posts with the labels on the thread. Can any of you lovely ladies provide me with a PDF for the label for the Reindeer Food?
I have the poem:
Sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sparkle bright
As Sant's reindeer fly and roam
This will guide them to your home.
I have printed it in black on white thin card and am using flyingpig's idea to top the bags without fancy equipment. I'm topping the bags with red card, and have snowflake cutters that I am cutting out silver card to stick on. The last bit might not happen though, if I run out of time!0 -
Yup...me too :rotfl:Though the crafting (to sell) has had a bit of a back seat for a while while I got going with making all the family's presents.....still not wrapped any though!!!so is anyone else as unorganised as me because crafting for customers has taken over??

I have done more knitting (beanie hats and fingerless gloves) than I planned. I was supposed to do much more cross-stitching this year, but sinusitis has forced me into knitting more (much more relaxing and quick
). If you are wondering what sinusitis has do do with sewing...I can't wear my glasses for very long when it is bad...and close-up work becomes very difficult.
My fair is on Sunday too, so busy crafting away today like a mad woman!!! I too think I've just about hacd enough of the ES choccies!!Bitsy_Beans wrote: »I have my table top sale this Sunday I am drawing a line under it all and looking forward to my own Xmas. Unless people make orders then that's it. I want my dining room back to rights
I've written no cards, wrapped no pressies, not even sorted out cards for DS to take to friends for school.........:eek:
Washed the material I got in a sale to cover the table...a lovely bright Christmas green.,..but hanging it out on the line, there are a few places where the colour is quite faded, so either a gold or red cloth will be covering up the centre. Ooooh I am full of ideas today
Still to write (or even make!!!) cards as well as the annual family letter...looks like it will be shorter than usual!! Oh I wish there were 48 hours a day at this time of year!!! :rotfl:
Try this site...not ordered from it yet...but seriously considering it! I too have got 5 little bottles of wine for £5. One is for DS1's GF and the rest DH has helpfully emptied them so I can fill them with either damson or raspberry ginGolden_Anemone wrote: »Has anyone found little bottles for sloe gin? Hya Louise ...good to see you over here, beware though, it can be addictive!!
Right, had my 1/2 hour break for lunch, back to it again....now where has the DS tape gone...it's somewhere on the dining table...I'm sure of it!!!

Following whats on here, Im making chocolates for people and putting them in cello. I have a silicone star ice cube tray and both milk and white chocolate (quite big bars, 2 for £2 from morrisons but tastes better than the value one) and some some smarties and silver balls. Going to melt the chocolate, mix in the silver balls and smarties and shove in the tray in the fridge to set! Should get some funky star choccies

Edit: Can I make them now or will they go funny before xmas?No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018
