Angela you are so organised!!
Can I ask a question.. I've just decorated my lovely glass containers from Ikea to make the Jingle Beans, I don't have a punch that does circles and I'm having a nightmare trying to cut around a circle that I print off, any suggestions? without me having to buy a punch!0 -

Macpep - sorry to hear about the boot sale.
Well the crafting is taking over the house
I have a room dedicated to my sewing and craft which is chocka block, the bed in the other spare room is cover in ironed fabric awaiting cutting out and the lounge table is absolutely swamped in lavender, fabric, ribbon, scissors, pre-printed labels, cellophane bags and finished items.
I spent all day Saturday splitting my time between my sick hubby who had some horrible gastric bug and my craft room - working on my cricut - cutting out waxed paper templates for printing designs onto bottle bags and aprons and also to use as cutting templates for felt tree decs and lavender hearts. I also did lots of ironing and cutting out fabric for the bottle bags, lavender bath salts, lavender hearts, etc. I worked out a design for the elf christmas boots - just the cutting out to do now! Cutting out fabric takes so much time - if anyone has any tips - let me know.
Yesterday, I felt I had to get cracking actually getting some things finished! I managed to make 20 lavender bags, 12 candy cane gifts and 3 felt robin christmas tree decs yesterday.
I have got some stuff cut out now ready to make up: elf christmas boots, lollipop covers, more felt tree decs, Xmas aprons ready to print, bottle bags to print and make up and an advent calendar to finish - all before Thursday! Phew!
The epsom salts arrived today so I have made up the lavender bath salts and have left it to develop ready to fill organza bags this weekend. I am waiting for the flannels to arrive for the cupcakes which I want to get cracking with as these will be faster makes (than a fabric advent calender which is taking me hours and hours to make - although I plan to charge £24 for it because of this).
I have put some time aside tomorrow afternoon to get some more done and will take some photos to share then.0 -
WOW!! Stunning makes ladies and such fabulous packaging!! Sounds like you have all been mega busy. MacPep so sorry to hear about your boot sale
Craftgirl you are not the only one carp at cutting out, I cant even cut a straight line using a ruler never mind a circle!! If you intend to make lots of goodies it would be worth buying the punches, especially if you are wanting to sell your crafts. Sorry, not much help am I.

I have been working on this idea for a couple of days and wasn't really sure about the packaging but I think it looks ok. The poem is my own creation so if you think its naff..... tough... lol.... Its short and sweet and fits the labels
The Glowsticks are from Poundland and you get 25 per tube, I have added a piece of card to the pretzel bag just to give a bit of strength and support to the glow sticks. The labels are cut with nesties and the fairy is clip art resized to fit the smallest nestie (about 1.5 inches)

what about a pair of scallop edge scissors? i picked up a pair for £1 and because they are scallop edge it doesnt seem to matter so much of the circle is not 100% ...well... circluar :rotfl:
you just need to make sure that you put the scissor back down in the right place to follow the pattern0 -

Those look really great.
Just wanted to mention that it might be a good idea (if you haven't already) to put a note/ sticker somewhere mentioning that they are not suitable for small children, & not to pierce them (whatever the safety warning on the original packet said).
As small kids might like the look of them (from the pics I first thought they were sherbet straws or similar).A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

kitschkitty they are not for sale, they are for my grandaughter (7) to put in the goody bags for her friends. If I was selling them I would put a red warning label on "Not suitable for Children under 5 unless supervised". Anything sold would be correctly labelled ie NUTS, Vegetarian, Vegan, Soya etc or the age suitability. It is something we should all consider when selling to the public.0

Also I have seen pints with a black and white pair and then pints with 2 black and one white... what do people use in the main and how much do you charge? thank you. x
I asked my local florist for a roll of cellophane wrap and she let me have it at cost price as long as I wasnt selling flowers. It may be worth asking around where you live.0
