Last year Poundland and Poundworld sold these jars in sets of 4 for £1. But they don't have them in very often, so when they do I tend to buy as many as I can carry, because I know I won't see them again for ages.

However IKEA sell identical ones called Rajtan - but they cost a little more at £1.99 for 4

I've used a scalloped punch and a plain circle punch sold by Stampin Up. I've printed the sentiment and then punched it out with the punch. But you could easily do it by hand.

The snowflake is also made using a punch.

I have put self adhesive ribbon round the jar lid and put the tag thread under it to keep it in place.

I've used "posh" jelly beans in this jar ..... the ones where you can pick the colours, but they were a bit expensive.

All the other jars I made I filled with Poundshop jelly beans .... and could fill about 2 jars with one bag .... with a few left over for me to eat!!!

FlyingPig, I want to make sweet jars as I think this is about my crafting level! I've been looking at the Woodware Punches on ebay and have found a 3.5cm scallop and 2.5cm plain circle - would these be OK for the tops or will they be too small? I've bought some of the Anitas Father Christmas stickers to put on as an embellishment, they are the same size as the Snowman ones you have. I'm planning a trip to IKEA as I havent found the jars anywhere else.

    TIA

    Hi Jo,

I've got these jars and just measured the top of one, and it is about 5.5cm in diameter, although the punches you mention above, would fit on the top of the lid, the lid has a 'patten' on the top of it see here which is 4cm wide, so not sure if the scalloped circle would cover it.

2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Thanks CT19720. I suppose I should buy the jars first instead of being impatient! I'll look for some bigger punches too, but I can always go back to basics and just draw round a suitably sized round shape!

    Lovely makes everyone, so impressive!

I'm going to make some cookies in a jar and wondered if anyone has spotted some 1 litre sized clip top glass jars? I remember Tesco selling them but can't remember how much they are. Tesco Direct only have a mixed set online.

I've wanted to make these for a while, quite looking forward to it!

I'm having a stall at a few Christmas fairs and usually only sell textile stuff which I've sewn but have decided to give these bits a go. Also will be doing snowman soup, reindeer and snowman poop. Right, back to looking a cello cones on Ebay...

I bought mine from Asda last week £1 each

I got the super scalloped 2 " £6.90 and then the big circle £5.15. sO if money is tight and you aren't a label junkie I would reccomend these.

Thanks for the reply. The scalloped one is now out of stock :(

  • Hi there all,
Baby asleep, little one eating lunch and bigger (4) one at school.
Just enough time to read 5 pages since I last looked.
I had first fair of the season on Saturday and sold out of Magnetic pegs £1.50 for 5. Pints of socks £3.00. Ladies Fluffy Sock Cupcakes (4.00) and Bookmarks. (50p) So all these are good sellers at these prices. Just need to make loads more as in a couple of weeks I have 7 fairs in 12 days!!!!
Also there was a lady there selling flannels with the minature shower gels etc in them (one in each) and rolled up to look like a cracker in cellowrap. She was selling these at £3 each too and said that last year she sold over 400 of them!!!!!!!!Might have to give this a go next year.
Think I am just oing to stick to the things I have already done and try and make an earlier start next year!!!
    Good luck to everyone.
sorry I have waffled a bit but hope this helps anyone with fairs coming up and no idea what to charge.
Trying to earn some pennies from crafting again this year!
  • Also I have brought a compass with a blade to make different size circles. was only £4 at a local stationers. I could not justify the expense of any of the proper stamps altough would love them.
Maybe when I have made enough money to contribute to an extension I can warrant it!!!
