Christmas Crafting Ideas by Flyingpig - Its Good To Share.

For those of you that liked flyingpig's baubles and are mortified that Hobbycraft's are now £4.99... I have an alternative!
I found these in Poundland (woop!) today. You get 4 in a pack and I only bought one pack just in case my experiment on them didn't work. They have some blue strands of lametta in them, but I managed to take the top off and poke about with some tweezers and it all came out pretty easily, leaving you with a clear bauble, for you to fill how you wish.
They are plastic baubles too, which are great if you have children and pets as they don't smash if they fall off your tree! I have very few glass baubles left for that very reason.
I hope this helps everyone.

Great idea with the baubles li'l_p plastic ones are much safer for me because when the cats climb up the tree and knock then off they won't break0 -
Lots of nice makes again today
I went to my local Home Bargains today, got some humbugs to do the 'bah humbug' carton for OHs dad. Will hopefully get that done tomorrow. They still havent had their delivery of Cadbury minis - fingers crossed they will have some more in soon!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Any ideas on how to make a stocking holder? One that sits on your fireplace IYKWIM
They seem to be around £5 each and don't really want to waste £10 on those so was wondering if there was anyway I could make something to do the job instead.0 -
For sticking on tiny gems I use a Fine Tip Glue Applicator, filled with PVA glue. The nozzle is pin hole (0.5mm) so it dispenses the tiniest amount of glue. I got mine a few years back but a quick search has brought up the supplier named on the bottle I have:
http://www.finetip.co.uk/buy-now.html
They are £3.25 to buy here but if you search around you may find one similar/cheaper - I don't want people to think I am promoting this site, I am just showing which product I use to help those that might find it useful.
That said, I'd highly recommend having one as I use mine all the time, and PVA glue is really cheap and goes a long way, so you'll get your mileage out of it. I use mine for gluing small dies cuts too; things like the quickutz shapes which can have small or thin pieces.0 -
i have spent this afternoon making the 3 nappy cakes needed by customers this weekend, just need to tie the bow round them and add the ingredients card then there good to go.off to town tomorrow to stock up on bits i need and hopefuly my round punch will be here so i can get on with the tree choc decorations
How do you keep them tiers together, I have bought all of the things to make a nappy cake as my cousin was due yesterday  but I wanted to wait until she had baby so I could top it off with pink/blue teddy & ribbon, I have saw a few saying using dowels but I must be dim as I have no idea what they mean??? Dowel is a very thin rod of wood, usually available in places like B&Q. I think Hobbycraft also sell dowel in their dolls house section.
People usually cut the dowel to the height of the nappy cake and push right down the centre to keep it all together.0 -
