also i went to tescos yesterday to get the purple candy canes with no luck so going to try another tesco's today in portmadog,i also went into the poundland to see if they had the mini candy canes and they didn't so will get them from the store when i get home
  • Some fab makes going on-I love those Christmas pudding ES choccies. Will probably make some similar to hang on our tree.

Just a thought for anyone using the Sainsburys discs of choclate that were on special offer. I had a look at these in my local store. However because they are made of swiss chocolate they contain hazelnuts. My husband has a nut allergy (and possibly my son) so I didn't buy any. We've come up against it before which is now why I check the ingredients of what is perceived to be just solid chocolate!

Just thought I'd mention it as ordinarily I would have presumed they were just solid chocolate and not contain nuts...

Someone was asking for a source of chocoate-covered raisins to make up bags of Reindeer Poo. Tescos have the 200g Galaxy bags for £1 atm (until 2nd Nov I think)...this works out at 50p for 100g...pretty good compared to other places. When I am well enough I am going to investigat our little sweetie shop to see if I can get a deal on a bulk order. :o

flyingpig58 - how much "poo" do you have in a bag? Just trying to work out how much to charge when I sell them at some Xmas fairs. 50g in a bag to sell @ 50p is my thought...but will think again when I feel better.

Sinusitis still a pain...and now I allergic to the antibiotics...so another set to try today...wonder what colour they will be?!! :rotfl:

Off to have lunch and a lie down...at least my asthma seems a bit better today :o.

Pinkprincess - thanks for the bit about the Sainsbugs choccies...I have a niece allergic to nuts who doesn't like mint, so I was going to go for them too....oh well, back to the drawing board!!

    Hi all

I found some "card wallets"? in the works. they are for putting handmade cards in. they are clear cellophane with a sticky top, i think they were 50 for 99p! so i bought LOADS!!!

    x

Thanks for that I picked some up today they also have some slighty bigger in a pack of 50 for £1.99 which I think will be a good size for the snowman soup.

These sweets are gorgeous and would look fab as another alternative to choc raisins for reindeer poop, and great if you have lots to make for school gifts/fetes etc http://www.very.co.uk/stockleys-chocolate-nibbles/627165172.prd?cm!!!!!o&_requestid=57955&prdToken=/p/prod4844263-sku7446378&browseToken=/q/nibbles xx

My mum is asking how much I am charging for the Liz Shaw embellished mint - I have no idea how to price it :o

Those of you who sell at craft fairs can I ask you a for a few prices:

    Snowman soup
    Reindeer Poop (etc)
    Liz Shaw embellished choc mints
handmade Xmas cards (say a pack of 4)

I don't want to be pricing myself out of the market so to speak but neither do I wish to be selling myself short :o
I'd REALLY appreciate any responses - my mum is raving to her neighbour about the Liz Shaw mints in a bag and I think she is thinking of buying some off me for Xmas!

Sorry I am posting more questions than actual crafting this week :o:o

ZMHoward - Your cards are lovely. How do you cut the pics? I'd like to try decoupage but using sissors rather than a craft knife just puts me off a little :o

    Edited to add:

Flourgirl - Your tic tac mints are fantastic, well done!

Hey Bitsy ... I'll let you in on my secret ... The other year for my birthday, my nan made up a sewing kit, in a rather lovely red bag ... In it were some really really sharp scissors, lovely lil orange Fiskars Softgrip, blade is 2" long, and for the small fiddly bits, I use my florist's knife ;)
My crafting "equipment" is extremely basic :D
