Returns charge for M&S furniture

My mother bought a display cabinet from M&S Home that was available for home delivery only. When it arrived it turned out that it was too big to fit into the space it was to go in (somebody didn't measure correctly) so she cancelled the order. The cabinet was taken back by the people who had delivered it but M&S charged £100 for the return. It does mention this in their FAQs but do you think £100 is a reasonable charge?

For something of that size, presumably taking two people to lift/ carry it, yes I do.Gone ... or have I?0
-
How was it purchased - online or via the store?0

I'd say that £100 is excessive, how much did they charge for delivery?0

Was that somebody in M&S, in which case they should collect it free of charge.
If it was your mum or someone who measured on her behalf, then I think £100 could be reasonable, depending on the size of the cabinet and how many men/size of van needed to collect it.0 -

It wasn't M&S, none of us can remember who did measure it so the blame hasn't yet been allocated! The thing with the collection was that it was done by the people who delivered it, once they found it was too big they just took it away again so there was no special journey made.0 -
So you mean it was taken away straight away at the same time as delivery ?0

That's right, the delivery men brought it in, it was obviously too big for the gap it was supposed to go in so they took it away (after the £100 was paid to M&S).0
