If it wasnt such a dodgy issue legally, Tesco wouldnt offer DTD. Whats better for them, DTD refunds or bad publicity and trsding standards taking them to court?
Why would anyone be on this site looking for grabbits, then have a go at someone who has found one. Or is that the problem? Jealousy because they havent.
Well done OP.0 -
i thought the point was if the shelf edge label said £169 but the tv rang though the tills at £249 thats when i would be entitled to double the differencelawlorlane wrote: »If the SEL said it was £169 then that would have been the correct price so you wouldnt have got any DTD from it, also... if it ended 01/10/10 then had the SEL price been £249 you would have been entitled to DTD as it wouldnt have eneded til midnight of that date!
Or have I read your post wrong :S lol.0 -

Yep you would, even SELs where the offer is still in date prices are sometimes wrong. If your store has a price scanner then you can test it first. I think it should be law for all Tescos to have price checkers scanners that are in good working order, lol.:D0 -
Okay, so a few people have said I shouldn't frequent this forum if I find this kind of thing abhorrent.
What do you lot define this forum as? Every post an exploitative, dishonest scam?
I've found a lot of great deals on this forum - price cuts, offers and sales... All honest and legitimate. None of those involved me buying something knowing it was wrongly priced just to return the damn thing and pocket the difference.
Justify dishonesty with "an eye for an eye" because you feel you've been wronged by a company if it makes you feel better - just try to remember that these kinds of things in the world are instigated by some, and perpetuated by more than the original few.
Ever consider that all you do by behaving this way just makes it all worse?
No, of course not. You've been wronged and you deserve to act just as unjust. Because it's all about you.
I've been wronged by companies too, and I'm neither a pushover nor am I militant; but I'll go through the proper channels to at least try and do things correctly.
But, whatever. As long as your pocket's full and you can sleep at night.
Feel free to carry on making yourselves feel better, but don't bother trying to prove anything to me - I've said more than I originally intended to and I won't return.0 -

There are many different types of people in this world and lecturing us will not make us share your views/values the same as me lecturing you would not work.
I sleep very well at night thank you and I for one will continue to use the double the difference policy as long as it's in place and if I get the opportunity to do this multiple times because Tesco refuse to change the prices as soon as it's pointed out then I will.
As for not coming back on the site, I have a feeling you will read this reply anyway. These posts have existed far longer than you have been a member so either get used to it or do what you have and leave, you cannot change the world.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -

Nope.... none at all in my store
They did have some other reduced (No box or instructions, ex display models) ones tho, with about £50 knocked off price.0 -
I have no problem with this - I bought "off" fod in the past and had to return to the store and they have not given me any extra for my time, petrol or spoilt meal, so take advantage if you can -it works both ways0

Blimey if you think this is all bad then its a good job you werent here three or four years ago when Tesco's policy was R&R!
:rotfl:
I must have had a good few thousand pounds worth of stuff out of them over the period of 8 or 9 months and I wasnt the only one, nor did I get anywhere near as much as some people...
Tesco screw every customer that goes through their doors on a daily basis, how you can defend them against someone wanting to play them at their own game defies your own logic.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
