No heating on here yet, I'm still happily warm and any slight cold feeling is nipped in the bud with my lovely fleece blanket that I snuggle on the sofa under :) bought DD one also and they are amazing! My gas and electric bill has come down from this month also. I also noticed on the graphs on my last years usage to this years my gas usage is less than half for this time of year! I'm very proud of myself :)

Same here in the Midlands, I do hope its going to be like this all week...I've never got to mid October with the heating on, it would be great if I could this year....then again I always lived in old houses ( Victorian, Edwardian and a 200 year old cottage) which were always freezing in winter. This will be my first full winter in my bungalow, which is newer, smaller and much warmer, so hoping to reduce the gas and electric bill this year.

I take a fleece blanket to bed with me, cheapie from primani. I put it next to me under the sheet if I am very cold. It works really well.
They are really easily washed and dried too.
