It definitely is starting to feel quite wintry isn't it.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Some very strong cold biting winds today so I can quite believe that.
Real feel temps are low single figures.0 -

Put mine on for an hour as I want to be comfy and relax in front of the tv. I hate being cold and the upstairs ones are still turned off as I hate the bedrooms being too hot.0

Still off today but was tempted this morning! brrrrrr!
I've started camping in the OHs room (separate rooms due to snoring) like I usually do when the weather starts to turn. It stays toasty in there well into November usually thanks to the south facing window.
Time for the bed socks and maybe a hot water bottle.
When it get's really nippy 'drying days' are bliss even if it gets a bit damp. I have a 'three layer limit' on my upper body before I turn on the heating. layer A is a Vest/t-shirt which doesn't count, the layer 1 is a not-to-bulky-fleece/jumper, 2 is a thicker fleece/jumper and layer three is a 'house coat'/thick dressing gown.
Although now we tend to look like a pair of monks in our 'robes' now. One decent jumper/thick PJ bottoms/winter socks and slippers under one of those and it's nice and warm
These method are a bit bulky either way so it's just not practical after a certain amount of layers. Not being able to bend your elbows/knees is a good sign that it's time to give up on layers and put the heating on lol.
Sometimes a delivery will turn up and the OH will answer the door in his 'jedi/monk robe' much to the amusement of the delivery man....0 -
I have had my heating on timed for past few days to come on at 6 am and I turn it off manually about an hour later......
Most of my rooms are south facing , so the temp with the sun out has been 23 degrees , my bedroom face north , but I dont mind cos I have my windows open 24/7 365 that suits me fine , cant sleep shut up without fresh air, doesnt matter how cold your bedroom is as long as your under the covers and keep warm..................0 -

My bedroom window is open in all but the coldest nights where there is snow, ice or bitter howling winds which I fear are not too far away :eek:0
