Is your heating ON or OFF?

  • My problem is the cold air.

My bed is warm, I can wear an extra jumper, but when I wake in the morning, my head is cold, I can feel the cold air on me.

    Heating still off though.
  • It's midnight and the patio doors are still open and I'm wearing a shorts and t-shirt. No heating here

Cool and grey here, it warmed up yesterday and I think it will do the same today.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

No heating yet for this softy southerner! Its not chilly enough yet. I have put the duvet back on my bed though.

But the hot water is on now with the boiler (normally heated via Solar, but just doesn't heat properly Sept onwards!)

No heating yet, but I have started wearing socks and jumpers (not thick ones yet though), and I need the duvet over me at night. I think I'm going to have to start wearing my summer tops under my jumpers, like I did last winter so I can tuck them in, as my jumpers keep riding up and my back and tummy get cold.

None yet, but flatmates are already beginning to complain it isn't so hot the windows need to be open (!).

I suspect this means within a week or so we will probably have it on again. I do think the massive bill from last year is making them think a little bit about it though.

My pointing out that it isn't normal to expect to wander round a house in t-shirt and shorts in the depths of winter didn't work last year...

Plan on changing to the winter duvets this afternoon. It's not needed just yet but avoiding waking feeling chilly and having to succum to pressing that button.

The way I see it is it's not cold enough for hats and gloves outside so nowhere near cold enough for my pennies to go to the gas company
  • Still off here, but I am starting to get frustrated that the laundry is taking longer to dry. Is there a support thread as we get nearer to October? so all of us that want to hold out as long as possible can shout at each other "don't do it - don't go near the switch" :rotfl:
  • Another softy southerner here :rotfl:

No heating on at all, sat here in my pj's with the patio doors open and temp in here is a lovely 23 degrees, just have to make sure the rain doesn't come over the door step!
  • Heating has been on just for a couple of bursts over the last week. The temperature fluctuated a wee bit on the cooler side for a couple of days but it's back to being on the warmer side again.

Got our gas bill through a couple of days ago, they've reduced the DD from £60 to £45 :)per month. They've also said there's gonna be an 8% price rise in the next few weeks so no doubt it will go straight back up again...
