Is your heating ON or OFF?

My heating was on but my boiler has broken today so I've been reading through looking for tips to keep warm until we get it fixed. Spoken to letting agent and someone should be coming out this afternoon. I hope so cos I want a shower! Don't think it will do any of us any harm to have the heating off for a day but I'd like to get clean0

Heating is now regularly on for 1 hour in the mornings and around 3 in the evenings.
Am currently £270 in credit for my gas+elec so hopefully will be able to cope with the bill when it comes in!!
I'm looking for work at the moment and I'm trying so hard not put the heating on (and failing).
It has been on for an hour and a half in the morning for DP getting up and ready. Then I have usually had it on for an hour or so in the day time and at night it is on timer for 3 hours but DP is a nightmare and ends up putting it on for longer!0 -
Fire is on in the room where I am sitting. Sciatica is playing up badly, I need to be warm.

Sciatica is horrible,I've had this too.
I hope you don't mind me saying, but sitting is the worst thing you can do if you have sciatica, though I realise that you were maybe just saying that as a turn of phrase! If that is the case then I apologise for being an interfering so-and-so.
It's best either to lie flat on your back with a pillow under your knees,so that your legs are 'bent' and not flat,or lie on your side with a pillow between your legs.
Difficult to get things done of course, and too easy to keep dozing off,but miles better for the dreaded sciatica.
Hope you feel better soon.0 -

On. I'm cold and I have another cold. Having a lazy evening. I'm getting a rug doctor carpet cleaner tomorrow and a fellow MSEer has warned about the damp it will produce, so might keep heating on to make the house warm then keep the house warm to facilitate drying.0
