Oh over tonight, so got to put it on....or he grumbles no end. Will have it off soon as he goes right through next week. The thought of having to pay £180 a month is terrifying me more than being cold!!OU Law studentMay Grocery challenge£30/ £110

It terrifies me as well my heating is off again i've got a blanket round me i'm lucky my house has good insulation.0 -
mine is off! was on this morning but haven't put in back on since i got in. been fine sitting here for a couple of hours thanks to my thermals and a thick arran jumper and sheepskin slippers - i think my downstairs neighbour must be heating the flat for me, if you see what i mean!
am getting a little bit chilly now, could put a hat and blanket on but i think this is a good excuse for an early night so hot water bottle and hot drink and bed i think. i love my lovely warm duvet! :T
agree with those who find the house a bit stuffy if the heating is on a lot. i'd HATE to have it on at night, did that last year in the cold snap and found i was waking up with a headache. would rather wear my hat in bed!"The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed" - Ghandi0 -
I can't sleep without a window open - even if it is minus 15 ! Ours are freezing shut and we're having to batter them to get them open, same with the back door. Its glass and the condensation that runs down the glass is turning to ice on the floor and sticking.0

our central heating boiler broke down yesterday afternoon...... we have a log burner in the front room and have put extra blankets on the beds and jumpers on- not too bad really! We have someone coming to look at it today but if it is going to cost too much i think we will just soldier on.
What did we do before central heating?0 -

Must admit we cracked on Thursday and put the heating on first time all winter, it has been lovely to have baths again and hot water out of the tap (very old system, water and heating will only work together so we keep both off, take showers and use the kettle for hot water). Will be going off again tomorrow night and staying off as we'll be back at uni and back to using the coal fire in the evenings*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
