  • Ours is on low 24/7 atm - mainly because I have poorly people here & after a week of no heating/hot water due to boiler problems, the house feels really cold/damp/horrid. It'll go off on Monday morning though, and we'll go back to just lighting a fire on cold evenings. Didn't have the heating on regularly for most of last winter - we caved when dd was born though.
  • Not really cold enough here to worry about having the heating on, but Im waiting for the gasman to arrive to sort the boiler out, pressure keeps dropping to zero:eek: It would be nice to know that I could put it on if I needed to tho..

Mines been on for about a month on and off. When its warm I override the controls, but it is freezing at the mo. I actually had a hot water bottle last night.

Mine's still off, really pleased at making through November without needing it!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • I finally set mine to go on this morning as I was really cold last night. The weather is turning now I think, although every forecast I look at tells me different temperatures

Ours is still not on, but it is getting very chilly now and I am watching the temps in the kids rooms. One of our children is profoundly disabled and at the moment he is quite snug under his duvet and blankets at night, but if it gets any cooler in his bedroom then I will put the heating on timer for an hour in the evenings to take the chill off. I was hoping to get to the 1st of December without heating, but my sons health is - obviously - much more important.

newleaf - Snow! I know it means that it is cold, but I am so, so envious! We are right on the south coast and are lucky if we get one snowfall over winter - I love snow :D
  • Still off here - have replied to a freecycler today about a double duvet for kids room - all have duvet under them and on top but extra blankets much needed here!

Need to get draught excluding as getting cold and will start saving baking till evening so it can help to heat us all!
DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debts :) Just to see which month :))))

  • Mine's only on for about an hour a day but it's particularly cold today so I might give in and treat myself!

  • I have switched mine on for 2 hours in the morning & 2 hours in the evening at 17C (although it's not coming on that often). Only switched it on because we got a 14 week old kitten the other day and as he is still separated from the older cats he has no-one to snuggle with in the spare room at night. If we didn't have cats I'd still be braving it.

I'm getting a slanket from my mother in law for Christmas, I'm very excited. With that and 3 cats to sit on me I may never need heating again.
