We have one heater on at a low setting but I had to open the garden doors as I was so warm earlier. It gets a bit colder at night but still very mild.0

Still off - so far. We have had the living room fire on briefly last weekend as my niece came to stay and she has asthma and always seems to get chest infections and colds really easily.
We're snuggling with hot water bottles, jumpers and an extra duvet on the bed.0 -

I have the heating on a little in the morning and evening but to be honest it's been so mild I don't really need it. I have had my bedroom window open a crack all night, and fully open for an hour or so in the morning to air the room.
I've also been having cold showers; I haven't had a hot shower since last winter. It was a bit tough at first but now I absolutely love it and would not go back to hot showers. Not only does it save money and stop condensation damage in the bathroom, I feel much more awake and energised in the mornings. It also seems to have the effect of making me feel warmer for much of the day - something to do with increasing blood circulation I suspect.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. Austin Allegro...I suppose if one showers daily with cold water it gets easier to do after a time , but its not for me for sure , even when I go on holidays to warmer climes it takes me ages to get in the swimming pool and thats when the air temp is over 30 ......
Today , well its been about 12 degrees and very damp and drizzly , so ive lit the fire in sitting room and its so comforting ...My motto is " one life live it ".....:)0 -

Yes I adjusted myself gradually, having a cooler and cooler shower every day until I used no hot water at all in the mix. It took a couple of weeks or so. But then I've always been a bit of a hardy frugal Scotsman. Must have been my Calvinistic upbringing!
London this afternoon was like springtime - I swear the birds were singing more than usual. I went out without a coat or scarf and wasn't at all cold.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
