Our heating has been off the past two days for the first time this year, it's been lovely and sunny down here in Dorset

Switched it off yesterday. It was a bit nippy getting out of the shower this morning but have just had a horrendous gas bill so can't afford to put it on again until Autumn. Will just have to grin - or should that be grit my teeth? - and bear it.

Our heating is on a dual timer / heat sensor (set to 15C). It hasn't dropped below 17C at the times so no heating has been on.

After a £500 excess at the old house - my husband has been told in no uncertain terms to put extra layers (or trousers not shorts) on before he even thinks about touching the central heating. I would much rather turn the fire on to heat a room BEFORE I heat the whole house.

it's been so nice this past few days that I've had all windows open to let warm fresh air circulate around the house.

Off. The same way it has been for over a year. I think it went on once when the radiators were bled and it'll get tested again in 3 days time when I have the boiler serviced.

We live in a new build that is ridiculously warm all of the time. Yay in the Winter nay in the summer! :rotfl:

  • I've got storage heaters in my home. Atm there going on and off intermittently. My homes a cold one. It was only 12° indoors yesterday. The sun comes up on the bedroom side in the morning but then the lounge is dark and cold. I'm still having to put them on to dry my washing as even outside when the suns out it isn't very warn where I am. There's only me so I'm used to it, but if I have visitors I switch them on the night before.

I arrange my washing days (1 or 2 a week only) when I'm home so I can part leave it outside and then bring it in and get duel benefit if the heating needs to go on.

My home has a north facing wall :-(
  • Our heating is OFF and will stay off now until November. Only using gas fire in lounge as and when. Having house rabbit who is allowed access to the garden when we are home with back door wide open even in depths of winter means we dress warmly and heating is only on we settle down for the night and first thing in the morning.
