Annoyed at feeling guilty

Bananabelly, that is lovely.
I think the guilt comes from knowing we didn't have much growing up and that our mothers made do and didn't treat themselves because they were at the end of the pecking order, so to speak. I too used to feel very guilty, but I only spend what I know wont adversely affect the family or our budget. Also after my mum died I realised with terrifying clarity we arent here for very long and we dont know how long we have, so I found that somehow coming to terms with that lessened the guilt.
Sorry if it sounds muddled but I can't think of a better way of putting it.0 -
my gawd - we should form a club!
I shop for clothes, books etc at charity shops (so even though I am spending on myself, I get a bargain and help others in the process), never pay full price for anything for myself unless I absolutely have to but today I happily spent £20 on a play outfit in Argos for Grandson! I could get skirt, top and shoes for that usually!
my mum made sacrifices for us too - the difference with my mum was she ALWAYS went on and on about how she went without for us. My Sis will happily spend hundreds on a HANDBAG while I am the charity shop queen!
Now what shall we call our little club? suggestions please - and tips on how NOT to feel guilty about spending 4.95 on a desperately needed new mascara (I had resorted to spitting on the brush and doing the plunger bit in the old mascara tube).0
