Dear BT Company Rep
I understand that BT agreed with ofcom to reduce its early termination charges from October 2010: http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/2010/06/cheaper-charges-for-uk-consumers-to-end-phone-contracts/
Please could you let us know what these new charges will be for Broadband & Calls packages. I am particularly interested in the monthly termination charge for BT Option 1.
Many thanks

I would be interested in more info on this too?? Trying to get a better deal but have comtract with BT for Tv, broadband and phone. It looks as though I can save lots of money each month by reducing my package down to just phone and getting broadband from my mobile phone provider and freeview instead of the tvAll of my views are my own

Thanks to BT Rep for the PM!0
-
why couldn't they publish the new rates here instead of in a PM?0
-
Sorry it wasn't a PM it was an email, in response to one I sent to btcare on the rep's profile. The new rates haven't yet been published but they told me the rates I would have to pay if I cancel my own BB account now, presumably using my email address to access my account details?0

BT Company Rep (Claire): please can you help again. Your email said that provided I waited until after my first 12 months was up I would have no broadband cancellation charges to pay - but now that I have started the transfer process I have received an email from BT Customer Services to say that I will be charged almost £50!
Please could you look into this?

I have had a further email from BT Customer Services apologising for 'any confusion' and still saying I will still be charged almost £50 in cancellation fees. I double checked BT Company Rep Claire's (BTCare) response last week and she was clear that there would be no charges. Is BTCare not related to BT Customer Services? Which message is correct please?0

The October changes to BT cancellation fees are to do with telephone landline contracts (not broadband)0
-
I just need clarification because the information I was sent about my account by the rep on here conflicts with the information from BT Customer Services.

If it's any help, even when you are out of contract, if you cease your bb (ie don't use a MAC) you still have a fee to pay. (£25 at present)0

If your still in a broadband contract with BT they want normally waive the charge if you cancel early, unless its for service reasons.
The new early termination fees for BT phone lines / call bundles can be found via the link in the original post.0
