Welcome Finance - Surprise letter

Received a letter from Welcome Finance yesterday out of the blue saying that they have reviewed my PPI claim which was rejected some time ago.

They have offered me £700 all in, the only thing is they have asked for my bank details so they can credit it by BACS.

Has anyone else heard anything like this? I phoned their complaints department and they said the letter did come from them and that’s how they are refunding clients.

Not sure why they just can’t send a cheque!

Do you know if that is the correct amount or not?

Apparentely it have been said that older rejected complaints should be looked into, so this is probably why you have heard and received an overturned decision.

i wouls get cheque, or setup a dedicated side a/c.. no need for them to know real details..

Well done Leanne, l actually have a reclaim l have put through with Welcome as they rejected my claim in April this year and l found out through this brilliant forum that l did have a case for claiming, hope l have some good news.
When did you have your first claim rejected ?

The amount looks correct. It was first rejected over a year ago which is why I got a bit of a surprise!

Might actually ask them ti credit my older account which is sitting with no funds in it.

I to have had a suprise letter overturning my ppi claim. I claimed 18 months ago and was refused immediately. Couldnt believe when got the letter. Im so happy but will wait to celebrate more when money arrives.:j

Well Done its great news. What address did the letter come from its just that i ve put a claim in for Welcome Finance but just wanted to know i sent it to the correct address.

Thanks everyone. Patiently waiting on the money now. Will clear a good bit of debt for me.
