    Hi

Thank you all for your comments regarding Reiki. My friend has been seeing this lady for a while and she had been so perceptive about my friend's life and also talking about her Mum that had passed, that I wanted to give it a go.

To be fair to her, she did ask if I wanted to be told things and really that was what I went for - the Reiki was secondary because if I think I am going to 'hear' from my Mum then I will go anywhere. I haven't got over my Mum's death and look anywhere I can for reassurance over certain things or for signs from her.

So I guess it was my fault for wanting so much. I couldn't relax as much as I should have because I am a very shy, private person and found it weird to be lying there with my eyes shut and having a stranger look at me. I think that was why hypnosis didn't really work for me because the hypnotist was looking at me (I know that sounds strange!)

I think I had worked myself up so much before the Reiki session that I was likely to burst into tears whatever happened. She touched on my daughter's pain and other things about my daughter that hit a nerve (my daughter had also been to see her that afternoon) that I found it all too emotional and probably wouldn't go again.

tenmah....those sorts of experiences are extremely draining so don't be hard on yourself.

It's not "your fault" for wanting reassurance and signs from your Mum.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling awkward with the hypnotherapist looking at you.....when I had it, I giggled throughout the whole hour. I felt SO embarrassed and really rude but it was my uncomfortability rather than anything funny. Luckily she understood and said that a lot of clients did that on their first session. I was just worried she would think I wasn't taking it seriously.

Hope you find some inner peace soon. x
