Declaring today as NSD #13 :)

When I headed back into work after my morning break there were a couple of packs of 'Best' sausages in clearance - which are one thing I will lose an NSD for having tried them recently - but not cheap enough, even if I'd been clocked out/allowed to shop. Knew they wouldn't have been reduced again by my lunch break, so went back for a quick peek as I ended my afternoon break..... and they'd already gone, so clearly not meant for me today :o

Called into GP surgery on my way home to try and get an appt over my leg. Was initially offered tomorrow morning - but the time would have been problematic if the mutt's appt at the vet over-runs, and the GP I saw last time (the more approachable of the two I've seen over it so far) only works Thur/Fri. Didn't mention the latter to the receptionist though.....

Was then offered Thur morning, so said fine - then asked which GP it was with whilst keeping my fingers crossed. It's actually a different one again, and I think this one is a locum who actually comes in regularly when they need someone. Hopefully 3rd time lucky with getting a GP to listen to me

Also asked about the flu jab. Said I was hoping to be cheeky and get one of the spare ones if they had any left at the end, which is how I got it last year. The receptionist grinned and said that whilst you don't get if you don't ask, our GP is actually offering it to anyone who asks this year - whether you have an official NHS entitlement or not. So I'm calling in again on my way to work on Thursday for that, as the clinic time for it is noon-1pm - apparently most people turn up and queue at noon, so it should be a case of straight in, done and out when I arrive at 12:45-12:50. Work is almost straight across the road, so no real risk of being late either :D

  • Evening all!

Reporting NSD no 5!!!!!! Yay! Have hit my target!!

Spoon - Could I please up it to 7?!

Really didn't think I'd manage it today :/ I always try for a tuesday as its normally quite easy for me, but I felt soooo down and couldn't concentrate on work (my daddy passed away last month hence mood swings!) and wanted to stuff the diet and the NSDs and spend some money on chocolate and fizzy drinks!!! But I resisted!!!!

I feel a lot better now! Esp after catching up on this thread! And am muchly looking forward to you all coming to my neck of the woods for apple day! :T
    Just keep swimming

    Hi tjp70:hello:
Never too late to join us, you're very welcome, as long as you don't mind the highly intellectual conversations we have on here:D:D:D.

Will sign you up later when I do the update, in the meantime, feel free to join in with the chat and ask any questions, there's usually someone around to answer or just have a chat.

Hope your back gets better soon.
    Take care

Well done on reaching your target kath
NO NSD as was in town nearest to me so had a wee trip to Poundland & Card Factory.
Cant believe how cheap the Card Factory is.

I do rather like Card Factory too Beanie, I have already bought money wallets from there for the ever growing brood of nieces and nephews we seem to collect (OH from large family). Thought I'd get them early before all the good choices go. Also stocked up on their 7 for £1 cards as again, lots of kids to send to (and frankly they don't give a monkies about the card, only what's in it....litte :A)

Keiss - hope you are feeling better, you sound like you've had a rotten time of it :grouphug:

Reporting NSD #14 mistress Spoon! One more to go to target #2 :j Had very nice cod in parma ham for lunch (on expenses) though I must admit, the bangers and mash one of my colleagues had looked really nice (I had banger envy....)

Not sure if tomorrow will be a NSD day as I have an urge (and lots of apples) to make another crumble but need more butter, sugar and perhaps some blackberries or ruhbarb...oh decisions decisions....

Won't be able to make the outing on the high sees on Thurs as I am busy on Thursdays already :( but have fun.

If you buty a pre payment thingy AFAIK they can backdate it & you would get a refund of what you have paid.HTH.
Wow...will toddle off and check this!! Back at the docs tomorrow for the Wart clinic...still loads to get rid of. This is my second visit and hopefully my last (but doubt it :()...it hurts quite a bit having them frozen off!!

Thanks for all your lovely kind words...I am certailnly feeling a bit better tonight...but still get quite queezy doing the simplest things. I was really out of breath when I sliced up two loaves of HM bread today...and no, they didn't have really tough crusts!!

Having to un-declare today as an NSD spoon....sorry. I ventured onto Approved Foods and did a big order...my first, so looking forward to when it comes, not sure whenr I am going to put it all though! :D Since it is a spendy day...I may as well sort out my Pre-payment prescription thingy tonight too...

Right, off to do that and then get back to my knitting. Finished the first of my fancy socks...and should get the other finished by Friday, so will post a piccie then...really getting back into knitting again.

Will sign off now...Night, night all.

I was hoping for a NDS today but unfortunatly i had a hospital appointement this am for the chest clinic and they have put me on a nasal steroid pray as well as my inhalers so i had to pay out the prescription, afer that i went on to buy a few christmas presents, mainly with vouchers but had to top it up with cash, so i am still at 8 so far.

Surely one of the [STRIKE]inane bantoms[/STRIKE] lovely people on here can suggest where I might get a "lookylikey" for a famous orange flavoured liquer? I am trying to recreate a cocktail recipe from my summer holiday and have already obtained a lookylikey Irish cream and coffee liquer - just need the orange one to complete the set. I've already been to Ald! and Nett0 but no luck there.

Can't help you there, hooby, I'm afraid, never touch alcohol:o:o:o - well I don't strictly touch it when drinking it.

Seriously, hope you find a replacement, but I haven't seen one on my travels. Will keep a lookout for you though x

Good evening everyone, have just finished making crab apple jelly. About two stone of crab apples making 14 standard jars and 2 tall Kilner type jars of the stuff. And there are still enough fruits on the tree to make several more jars, but I cannot be arrised. The dicky birds can have those, I am totally crab appled out. Nice stuff, though, crab apple jelly. Good on toast or crumpets, nice in puddings, with plain yoghourt or as a cake filling. Could even be seriously debauched and have a dollop with cheese.

Well, Mistress Spoon, what time do you plan to pick everyone up on Thursday? And what time shall we aim to set sail? I need to know because Big Mumma's got a band lined up to play as we cast anchor, Chuck Connors and his Crunching Carrots or something like that. And they need to put their combine harvester on charge so they can get to the harbour on time.

Crew list looking good so far - see next post.
Are you bringing some on Thursday, Nargle, it would [STRIKE]disguise [/STRIKE]go well with Igor's cooking:D

I was thinking about getting the tardis ready around 6, it still needs a good airing every time it goes out (due mainly to Hubert) so will start pick ups around 6.30 I guess - is that OK? Has anyone thought about the tides in the Zummerzet levels, need to make sure we can catch them:D:D

Pirates of Zummerzet Apple Convention crew list for Thursday 21 October.

Captain Jack Scrumpy, complete with wooden leg, stripey socks and chicken on his shoulder (don't ask)

Captain Egremont Russet, who is a bit how shall we say effeminate. Well, what do you expect when your parents call you Egremont?

Deck hand Worcester Pearmain who is bringing his own personalised mop.

General Lunacy, in charge of the ship's bar and grog ration.

Mackintosh Red (Mac the Red) who I believe is wearing his kilt and the sporran with the skull and crossbones.

Pink Lady, a rather naughty stowaway lass.

Goldie Delicious and Rosie Cox, two pirate wenches.

Maggotty Meg and Putrid Lil, two pirate wenches of more mature years.

Jon O'Gold and Cox O'Rangepippin, two Irish pirate navigators ( to be sure! )

Igor the ship's cook and Hubert the ship's donkey.

Anyone know what the ship's called? Igor has still got to paint the name on the bow, so it must be something he can spell.

Is the chicken alive? any eggs going?;)

Don't forget the aliens, Nargle, they sulk if they're not invited and they'll only hijack the tardis and leave us stranded with Hubert our only means of transport - and you know what that involves:D

Ship's name - how about "The Jolly Apple"?

And Egremont is not effeminate, he's just showing his caring side (which could be a little difficult, not too sure he's cut out for this pirating lark:D)
