Sorry I've missed posting for a few days but just wanted to update that I am now at 6 NSDs so far since I jumped on the NSD bandwagon from 11th October!! I got 3 last week and then this Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday have also been NSDs. Monday was a spendy day though, I had a DD go out and also bought a new suit for work....from ebay for the princely sum of £10.50 inc P&P - very pleased with myself for being so restrained and having so many NSDs when I'm used to spending every day!! :money::jThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Not an NSD for me - the chilled Whoopsie section had one of the items I'm prepared to lose an NSD for as I left work (or, to be more precise, 4 lots of one of the items - so I was even happier to lose an NSD
)
So I've picked up 4 tubs of Four Cheese Pasta Sauce (£1.45 each or 2 for £2.50) for 35p each - and I've used half of one of them with my fish and rice tonightNow I just need to split the other 3 tubs into half - no I don't mean the tubs literally, just the contents
- and get the remaining 7 portions into the freezers.
I tried this sauce with fish and rice at the end of last month as I had some in the freezer, didn't fancy the parsley sauce I had in, and didn't think my roasted garlic and onion pasta sauce would go well (!), and was very pleasantly surprised at how fab it works together :T I still have loads of cod portions in the freezers (put 20 portions in a few months back, when it was half price at Mr M) and have only eaten about 4 of them so far - so loads of sauce still required to finish off meals, hence this being a Whoopsie I'll lose an NSD for at the moment
I also bought some medical supplies that I would otherwise have considered ignoring - some foam heel lifts for my shoes (couldn't justify the cost of the gel ones while I'm considering replacing my shoes in the next couple of weeks), and a 1m tubi-grip for my leg. Wore both to work this afternoon, and while I'm reserving judgement on the heel lifts the bandage is definitely helping - although I could do with another for the other leg, as the bakery was freeeeeeezing (they pull in air from outside through some seriously strong fans which is meant to cool the baked products ready for packing, but means we're all suffering with sniffles/sore neck muscles to some degree - and are all regularly wearing our 'michelin man' jackets in an attempt to keep warm) but the leg with the bandage was nice and snug while the other was getting serious frostbite
On top of that I had the vets bill that I put the money aside for last Friday - one annual booster, one kennel cough vaccination and 3 days worth of mild tranquilisers (for 5th & 6th Nov and 31st Dec) came to a hefty £56.94 :eek: The tranquilisers don't zone him out (wouldn't want any that did), but they do calm him slightly and mean he bounces off the walls less forcibly - giving me half a chance of holding onto him/comforting him. Last year was the first time I used anything, and it made a real difference as I was also a lot less stressed (due to him not being as likely to injure himself or me), which I think helped calm him down even more as well
The vet seemed pleased I was getting the kennel cough one done, and commented on the fact he'd not had it before. I explained that I hadn't know about it until recently, but this was so I can put him into kennels (with him being at a lower risk of picking up a strain of it) if it works better to do so when I go somewhere for a race now it's just me and him living here. Also mentioned that 'on-line friends' had reported being told it's more and more common for a pet to pick it up without being in a kennels, and she said she's actually pushing people to have it done regularly from very first vaccination now - apparently about 90% of the dogs they treated for kennel cough in May/June/July hadn't been anywhere near kennels........
And he's also officially on a diet/increased exercise regime. I thought he was around 33kg last time he was in (12 months back), and was shocked to see the scales register 39.7kg today (he sits on them nicely, so it's an accurate reading). But when the vet checked his records he was only 31.2kg last time - so he's put on 8.5kg (18.7lb) in 12 months !!! I'd already cut back on his food slightly as I was convinced DS wasn't walking him every day like was supposed to happen, but the vet has said to cut it back further as the excess weight also means it's more likely he'll get kidney stones again
(This does mean my stockpile of his food will last me longer though - each sack should now last 32.4 days instead of 30 days, and I have almost 8 full sacks in the house - so almost a money saving thing)

Hello everyone, not a NSD today I'm afraid but I have vague hopes for tomorrow.
Only 24 hours to go till we set sail - if Diana gets to the ship at around 6:30 pm she can get the kettle on for us all as once that Tardis gets under way there's no stopping it, we'll all be there in a flash!
Igor likes the name ENNESSDEE for the ship, but he can't spell it so will only paint the phonetic version - "N S D "
He's busy loading all the food stores as we speak....just a minute, folks....
Igor! What are you doing with 397 bales of wheat?
You're going to crush it? Why?
To make flour? Why?
To make bread?
Igor - see that building over there? Yes, the one called "Sainsburys". See the little packages inside with Mothers Pride and Warburtons on them?
Igor - get a life.One life - your life - live it!0
