Declaring today as NSD #11 - no energy to go down the road and check out the final Whoopsies ;)

I managed the entire course of the race at a running pace - and I kept it steady too as my final time was within a minute of what my pace at the 2 mile point indicated I could be heading for :)

On 15th Aug I did the route in 55 mins, so had been hoping to get it down to 50 mins. Then I picked up a leg injury on 2nd Sept which is still causing me problems, and I wasn't even sure until Monday I was going to be able to do it !!! So my only target today was to get round under my own steam - while keeping my fingers crossed for a sub-1hr time.....

My official time is 56:05, so I'm well chuffed :D

There was a physio there from a sports injury clinic, and his services were free both before and after the race so I though I may see if he was available afterwards. I felt my leg starting to ache at around the 2 mile point, and as soon as I crossed the finish line and dropped to a walk I was hobbling..... so much so a couple of people from my running club were concerned. I headed back to the school where we'd registered, and headed straight for the physio - had to wait while he finished up on the chap already on the bed, but it wasn't a long wait.

I told him about the injury, and that my GPs are adamant it's muscular even though 2 weeks on prescription only anti-inflams didn't help :o He pointed to one area of my leg and asked if I got pain there which I confirmed, and then told me what I'd thought to be the case - it's not muscular, and I do have a shin split  He worked on the leg to relieve the swelling he could feel building up, and then showed me some ankle exercises I can do to strengthen the muscles that are causing the problems (before telling me to come home, elevate the leg as much as I can before I'm back in work on Tuesday, and to put heat - water bottle - on it which I've been finding helps anyway)

Well done Cheryl - excellent time, especially considering your injury and good on you for seeing that physio - hopefully, you can get the leg sorted now :j :j

Whoops nearly forgot - I came on to report my NSD NUMBER 11 - I did not go out today in fact I did not get up till after noon Mr 3Dogs went own to the car boot today on his own and he did quiet well - took about £100 on a slow day so very pleased. He got my fruit but I pay the lady on Friday for that so OK - no spend today.

My friend who was ill and has been staying at her parents for a couple of weeks, is home today and feeling much better. Her GP has chased up her hospital appointments and she has about 4 coming up over the next couple of weeks, so she may get sorted out
    :( Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12 :( 3Dogs'Mam 31-3-13 :(

Just a thought - only four days to go till our pirate convention celebrating World Apple Day (21st) - anyone know where this is taking place? And what's everyone going to wear?

I'm going to check out my "core" wardrobe and choose something "a-peel-ing" If it's raining I'll wear my "Macintosh Red":rotfl::rotfl:

So sorry, couldnt resist that;) I'll get my coat............
I'll definitely wear clothes or I shall be more of a Russet than a Pink Lady  Plus my resemblance to Granny Smith is remarkable while clothed, particularly this week with my cold giving me a lovely green tinge http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8aqGlSyNXo

Anyhoo..feeling much better today so we all piled over to Nanny's & did indeed have a lovely fish dinner. The chippy we like was apparently very busy & No 1 Offspring had to park almost 10min walk from the shop as the area was so popular today, so we'd made the right decision to have a take-away; still not too much washing up either as most of us took the traditional 'out of the paper' route :D Thankfully we learned a couple of years ago it's much easier to phone an order through so now we only have to pay & go :T Pushed the boat out a bit & got some bitter & sugar free lemonade to make some really weak shandy as Mum is diabetic & had to take her meds too, but as we do something like this so infrequently it made for a lovely time.

Yesterday was an NSD so I'm on 11 now please Spoon.

ps..can you tell me if my posts ramble at any time, cuz I have a habit of missing bits out :o ..I know what I'm talking about & often forget that you won't have a clue

    Hello All

A NSD for me on Saturday but today have only managed a LSD.
Nearly spent yesterday on a sofa on eby but was outbid, which is a shame but good for NSDs.

Thats 9 clocked up so far for this month please.

    Happy no spending all.

Not a NSD after all, I succumbed to temptation in Tescos. Never mind, I included the things I was going to get tomorrow, so I will still get number 6 in the bag.

Zummerzet sounds good, Big M, loads of scrumpy and Ah har! - ing going on, and loading the ship's cannons with nice hard Bramleys - soon see off those scurvy sea dogs!
