Busy, busy, busy, no time to spend so NSD 7 today thank you Spoon.

Karate grading for me and DS2 tomorrow and kickboxing grading for DD Sunday but these should be covered by the cash I took out at the beginning of the month. I don't think this money will cover the rest of the week though as we have.......Monday Fight Club, Tuesday DD Kickboxing, me and DSs karate, Thursday DSs and DD kickboxing, Friday everyone karate, Sunday everyone karate competition. Expensive week!

    Laters :rotfl:

OK so remind me never to upset anyone in your family :rotfl:

Afternoon all - reporting (a little late) and unexpected NSD for Thurs, which takes me up to 11 :j was expecting to buy petrol and pop into Mr M but I took a rain check on class that evening as I have a rotten cold from being in Japan/Taiwan and thought trying to push myself to some exercise might not be the best idea.

Means I only have one more day to my Oct target! :j Sadly it wasn't yesterday as I had to get bread, plus a number of cold supplies like a nasal spray, lemsips (Wilko own brand, not the hideously expensive branded brands though) and had the old caterpillars threaded at the same time (apparnetly my pain threshold is significantly lower atm - ouchy ouchy!)

Might get my target today since I really don't intend to go anywhere - except perhaps the front garden which needs a mow.

    Laters x

...mid-afternoon update ... grass cut and front garden tidied, back garden abandoned for OH to tackle while he is on hols next week. Got rained on and rewarded myself with a nice hot bath. Load of washing in (how I managed to make so much while I was away I don't know, I am sure I didn't take half the clothes that came out of my case!!) Felt absolutley awful after bath, all shakey - so had boiled eggs and now sat under my blanket on the sofa with the cat and a honey and lemon. Cold seems to be working it's merry way into my chest so I'm sounding a little like Frank Butcher now. grumble grumble.....

...good news is I'm still on course for NSD 12 although not declaring yet in case of emergency run to the shops for essentials like honey and more tissues later....

Yesterdays spends didn't quite break my GC budget for this month (totally blew my 'year to date' for the end of October though, as I was over at the end of September) - but the money I'm holiday back for thing I know I'll need in the next 11 days does. And that still gives me another 6 days to worry about after that

So I've got another budget shuffle going on here..... and as I result I'lll have some major work on my hands to get next years budgets to balance with my income scratch_one-s_head.gif

I've spent this morning going through my food diary from my first week on maintainance (7 days starting Monday 27th Sept), and pulled together a s/sheet page with details of how much of what I'd actually eaten. I then plugged in the price of each item at full replacement value (just 1 small item I can't find a price for anywhere, so I've ignored that), and set the s/sheet to calculate my total useage - which came to a staggering £30.42 against my weekly budget of £11.90  (and that's based on part packs/jars, not full sized replacments)

I then went through the list again putting in the prices I'd actually paid (a lot of it had been bought as Whoopsies, and some on really good half price offers), and it still came to £12.55 :(

So - even if I rely on consistently getting the offers/Whoopsies - it seems my budget needs increasing by a minimum of 10p/day. But as I need to start eating according to a healthy diet rather than being quite as Whoopsie driven, I reckon I really need to increase it to at least £2.50/day (£17.50/week) rather than the £1.70 I'm currently using !!!!!!

There's 11 weeks left of this year, which is 77 days - and at an increase of 80p/day that would add £61.60 to my annual grocery budget. Once I add that to my current budget and do roundings it gives me a new annual budget of £1114.

By pure fluke, if I increase the daily allowance for the entire year by 10p (from £1.70 per person per day to £1.80), this gives me exactly the same rounded figure as I was feeding two until early last month (less a couple of weeks DS went away with my parents).

So for ease of my s/sheet calculations I'm updating the latter way ;)

And I need to enforce a few resolutions....

    1. Whoopsies (and special offers) are only a good deal if I'm going to use them very quickly and won't leave other stuff sitting around the house while I use them. If I can well and truly enforce this one it should also mean very little loss of NSDs to Whoopsies as well :)

    2. Before year end I must do a full/complete stock-take of every single grocery item in the house - part used packs/jars included - so I can meal plan around that as much as is feasible for as long as possible into 2011

    3. I need to start trying new (and cheap) recipes - I have access to the tools to check the nutritional balance of them all, so can easily see how they fit into my eating regime before I make them. And I will make time to do this - even if it's only a couple of hours one day a week I can soon build up a new recipe collection :)

Cheryl - def worth getting the Kennel cough vaccine. My dog got kennel cough without going near a kennel and it was horrible to see.
The vet said that incidents of KC are on the rise because lots of folks think they should only get the vaccine if they're using kennels, plus some folks are not getting their pets vaccinated because of money issues.
Our vet said the virus can 'live' on things like a blade of grass, so an infected animal will 'cough' & a healthy pet could inhale the vapour as they walk past :(

Well Folks..have you missed me :p Like many others I've been on an enforced diet this week & lost two days :o I kinda recall seeing downstairs for a few minutes on Wednesday & actually got dressed Thursday, but only into my sloppy comforts. I had to take advantage of going out without muvva on Monday to get her b'day cards for next week so that makes three spendy days & I can increase my nsd total to 10.
I've got a feeling we'll be treating Nanny to fish & chips tomorrow in lieu of a birthday meal; she doesn't like eating late & her b'day is on a working day, so it makes sense for us to do it when we can all be there.

Enjoy the rest of the w/e x
