    Hi lovely NSD gang:A
Wow... chatty as usual:D:D. Another quick roundup from me, hope I don’t miss out anyone/thing important, sorry if I do:o...

A very warm welcome to all our newbies signing up this month, new people are always welcome to join, we’re a a very friendly, if slightly insane, bunch and a surreal sense of humour definitely helps. We are, however, very serious in our aim to cut down on our spending and are happy to give advice/tips/hints so please ask if you’re not sure about anything. Everyone seems to have more success if they post regularly on here and join in the chat - not sure why, but it seems to work, so please feel free to join in:D

(whispers to elf06 "industrial strength scaffolding needed here too, especially at the gym and generally, if I do manage to wrestle myself into what they laughingly call a sports bra in my size I can rarely breathe which unfortunately is rather necessary when taking part in sporting activities, to say the least")

    Best wishes everyone
    Hooby

:rotfl:Ok so mine probably not THAT bad :D
Gym is just a no-no without though or it is actually sore!!!

    Good morning everyone -
Pleased to report #2 for yesterday - didnt go anywhere!
Up early today, OH is working on the other side of the country today so he was up and away early doors.
Decided to just get up and get on, so I've made Kerri's apple & blackberry cake - it's currently cooling on the rack and looks and smells divine. Thanks again for the recipe.:A How's the jam today? I've not made chili jam before, but when you make regular jam you test for a "set" before putting in the jars. You put a saucer in the fridge till it's really cold, then when you think your jam is ready drop a little on the cold saucer. If it forms a skin and you can push it slightly with your finger then its ready to pot. I dont know if this applies to chili jam or not, so I might be talking out of my you-know-what. Have a look on Delia online re preserves - she's my guru when it comes to cooking questions!;)

OH's sticky gingerbread is in the oven and I've got a pot of leek and tattie soup bubbling away. The soup is for dinner tomorrow night as I always want something quick and hearty when I come in from work!
Today Im just going to do a bit of tidying up and other than that I'm carrying on with the knitting. I'm in the mood IYSWIM!

    Have a lovely day everyone!:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.
  • Morning! Yikes we were only on page 2 last time I checked! I'm afraid I don't have time to read the intervening pages but well done to all those who have already had 1 or 2! We're only on the 4th!

My weekend has been a bit of a spendy one but it was expected as I had my friend over from Ireland. Friday had to buy some food and wine, Saturday we went out for dinner. Sunday was SUPPOSED to be a NSD but apparently Newcastle Airport now charges you a pound just to go in for a minute and drop someone off which is quite annoying, and then I reimbursed my boyfriend for driving duties with a McDonalds milkshake - he kindly drove us in the pouring rain as I was a bit too scared to! I'm hoping I can eke out the cat food til tomorrow when I know I need to do some shopping anyway to make today my first NSD... Poor cats!
