The octosyllabic October NSD challenge

I have a NSD dilemma for you this morning:
I have been saving on Asda cards for the past year and I put the money away on my usual grocery spend days. I will be using them later in the month for Christmas purchases - do these days count as spend days or not?
The money has already moved from your bank to Mr A's, so you don't have it available to spend anywhere elseCheryl0 -
Morning all just a quick update while we're still in October
I am struggling with my inner self about whether to declare yesterday as a NSD or not. I DID spend £2.75 (on bread and a new baking tray and papers for mum which she then gave the money back for) BUT a friend gave me £20 that was owed to me so I didnt actually lose any money of my own..........urgh its a tought one. I think I'll say it was a spendy day
Today WILL be a NSD (taking me to a final total of 17NSD for October) as the only thing I plan on doing is my gym which, apart from not being included in my challenge (I dont include this as its already budgeted for and I dont include my DD days as they all go out within 3 days and are also budgeted for), my friend that I go with is owing me todays class back
Hope everyone is well - looking forward to next months challengeEmma

NSD - target 18 days, so far 5!!0 -
As long as you ONLY use the money on the cards (ie. don't need to use cash/card to cover anything you go over by), then NO they don't count as spend days....
The money has already moved from your bank to Mr A's, so you don't have it available to spend anywhere else
Thanks C, I kinda thought that but I just needed someone to verify it! :T
I'd better not go over - I really dont want to spend more than my budget!
I'm trying very hard not to get caught in the "it's Christmas therefore I must have at least three trolley loads of stuff I wont need/use " mentality that the SM's try to brainwash you into!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
I'm not planning on buying ANYTHING extra in the way of groceries for the festive season.....
DD has suggested I should spend the day with her and my GDs, but they [strike]can[/strike] get very hyper so I prefer to see them on 26th.
My Dad's birthday is 28th, so I'll have to bob up that way at some point around then - but I'm still waiting to find out when the store is actually closed (suspect just the w/end, so it'll be 26th I go up as 28th is one of my full days).
I'm actually quite looking forward to spending the day on my own - it'll be the first time ever though, so I guess the novelty could wear off in a few yearsCurrent plans are to walk the dog and iron uniforms for the following week at work (normally done on a Sunday, but not if I'm out all day). I may well have roast turkey, but only 'cos I have some pre-cooked and sliced in my freezers - in fact the once concession to it being the festive season may be fresh instead of frozen veg as I don't like frozen sprouts, and much prefer fresh brocolli and cauli
Then - as long as the weather isn't too bad - I plan on heading out for a run.....
This is the thing I'm most looking forward to, as I suspect that if I time it right there'll be very little traffic on the roads (which almost means a bike ride might be a better choice for the day, and if it's a 'little moist' outside I don't mind being on a bike as much as on foot - guess I'll just wait and see how I feel/what the weather's like on the day)
The one thing I plan to do differently is turn my laptop off for a while and watch some of my Christmas Films (DVDs) over the Friday night/SaturdayCheryl0 -
Good morning everyone!
Woo hoo!! I managed to avoid spending yesterday so another NSD to add to my total; unfortunately, later today I'm doing a big shop for food and other odds n sods that we've run out of, so that's my lot of NSDs for this month; however, it does mean that due to yesterday's NSD, I reached my revised target - so I'm declaring at 22 NSDs for October!! :money:This thread didn't come up in my e-mail reminder AGAIN
Spoon - I'd like to pledge my lucky 19 NSDs for November - thank you as always for all your hard work! :T
