Who knows if i'll ever manage 18 or more - maybe snow days are what I need that helped me in January to get 20.MFW 2016 No 68 £1300/£8500 No new toiletries Cook sth different0

Ahh... essential spending again, I see.... did it perhaps involve that lovely lady stella again?:D0 -
BDINI - sorry you've had a rubbish (oh gosh, no pun intended
) start to the day - hope it gets better.
BDINI - thats a horrible thing to do, bless you for cleaning it all up though. Hope the rest of your weekend goes better.
Thanks guys, & yes the day definitely did get betterSeeing as i started early, i managed to get all my jobs done & fit a windowsill & towel rail & sort out the lights that had been hanging from the ceilings for weeks :j
Meant a bit of a DIY spend, but would have happened some time this month, so i guess today is as good any any
Hope you've had a lovely girlie night Kate?
Am just debating whether it really is too early for bed & wondering if i can keep my eyes open for MOTD!! (i think i must be getting old!!)February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Most definitely NOT an NSD for me today - and I still didn't manage to get the underwear I need as Mr T were out of stock of the style/colour/size I wanted (though I did find a few pairs in a smaller size lurking at the back of drawer, so at least I can manage for now as long as I remember to add them to uniform wash-loads rather than just my casual or running gear ones). Need to go to a sports shop for some new 'up top' undies though - have always got from Mr T, but the smallest size they do is now too big for me
- and I'm guessing this is going to bump the price rather nastily
Started the day (or, rather, the middle of the afternoon) with a wander around the local shops.
Nothing from Mr M (but did check when the loo roll offer ends, as it appears to the best one around - luckily on until 24th, so can continue to try and hold off until 15th, but I then plan to do a mega-stock-up on them as I love that make and the price - before I take off my staff discount - is the same as I normally pay when Mr T have their own on offer).
Called into B'n'M for a couple of sieves (got one a few weeks back and it's brill - but I'm a slob and only tend to wash-up every couple of days now it's just me, and have been known to have to rinse and re-use it more than once) and a couple of silicon loaf tins - total just under £6.
Also went back later and got a couple of blankets/throws for the couches - not the cheapest I've seen by far, but the extra-cuddliness of them made it worth the extra money in my opinion (and I'd spotted them a few days back, so have been giving this purchase some considerable thought rather than it being an impulse one). Total was pennies under £18 !!!!
L!dl supplied me with some cheap tea bags (heaven knows what they'll be like, but if they brew up very weak they'll be fine for lemon tea as I don't stew my bags as long for that), a bag of potatoes (the cheapest I could find anywhere I was going to today) and some bananas (same price as Mr M who were out of stock and Mr T who turned out to be out of stock when I eventually went, so glad I got from L!dl). Total was just under £1.70
Had a quick pass through A!di, but they didn't have anything left on my list (and nothing caught my eye)
Came home and 'mucked around' for a while, before finally managing to convince myself that I had to get to Mr T today..... and I nearly died at the final bill, although for what I got it wasn't bad
Picked up three (!) magazines - total £11.30. First mags I've bought all year, with two of them being veggie cookery ones (one with a meat-free C*****m*s supplement) and the other being a running one (if I like this it's one I could get with my Mr T vouchers - which I normally just spend in store - so would make it a very cheap subscription).
Also picked up 4 small saucepans - 2x 14cm without lids and 2x 16cm with lids. I only have one of each at the moment, and am struggling to find an appropriate size pan for the small quantities I'm now cooking (especially with my every-other-day washing up). Total £7, which I didn't think was bad.
Then £17 (!) on another couple of pairs of earphones for my iPod. The 'decent' set I had broke earlier this week (got them at about 25% the normal price in a sale so they were actually pretty cheap), so I've been using a really cheap and nasty emergency back-up pair since Wednesday. But I've discovered that I prefer 'buds' for at the gym and 'not buds' when I'm out running (the buds mean I don't hear surrounding noises, which is great in the gym but not as good when you have traffic approaching from behind on country lanes without footpaths), so I bought one of each style.
And a further 54p on 300 scented nappy bags.... I've been told these work just as well as 'proper' scoop bags and are a fraction of the price.
That leaves a further £18.70 on food shopping - and also leaves me playing a final game of freezer squeeze tomorrow morning (think I'm going to have to pull some more stewed apple out, which means I'm on crumble all week again).
Even though I didn't/don't need any more meat, I just couldn't resist some whoopsies on stuff I have limited amounts of (pork steaks - pack of 9 for £3.05 instead of £6) or don't have any of at all (beef mince - 2x 250g pack for 65p each instead of £1.20). I'm also on a lot of chicken salads/hot chicken sandwiches for lunches this month (both of which I love) as I got 5 packs of mini fillets - should be £4 each or 3 for £10 but only paid £1.20/pack (with the plan being to use 2 fillets a meal - and the one I opened to make a hot chicken roll for tea had 10 fillets in it). When I got to the bakery they were just about to start final reductions, and as one (clearly experienced) chap was trying to explain what to do to another (clearly new) chap I made a comment that the former picked up on - and it was one that told him I worked in the same role elsewhere. Everything was supposed to be going down to 20p (which I paid for a £1.50 rhubarb crumble cake that intrigued me despite my ban on cakes), but he reduced the part baked ciabattas I wanted to 15p (as a favour to someone who works in the same area, even if for a competitor). And from the f&V section I got a large bag of lemons for £1 instead of £2 (9 lemons in it, so lots of lemon tea and some baking coming up I think)
So of the £18.70 spend, £11.70 was on Whoopsies worth £29.70
I then paid full price for some grated cheese (on BOGOF), a tub of value cottage cheese, a large pack of value ham, a small-ish pack of value green beans (fancied a change), some red grapes (prefer green, but the red were cheaper) and a jar of marmalade. Also went to pick up the frozen peas I needed, and was debating picking up a bag of sweetcorn while there (not desperately needed, but a lot cheaper than I can get it for locally) when I spotted the value mixed veg - so I saved a lot of pennies and got that instead. The peas are 76p for a 900g bag, and the sweetcorn is 87p for 907g - but the mixed veg is 36p for 907gCheryl0 -
Good morning everyone!
........
LFV & Keiss nice to see you back:A
Have a lovely day everyone:)
Managed to get my first NSD today...so off the mark spoon. :j
Should pick up another tomorrow, but spending on Monday for sure!
Our new super-duper mattress arrived today...getting it into the house was a bit of a struggle, but nothing like the hassle it was to get it upstairs!! We have an old 300+ year-old cottage, with quite low ceilings and a quirky/bendy staricase. It took DH and DS2 well over half a hour of pushing and shoving (and even some cussing!!!) to get it upstairs...it is loverly though, and soooo comfy!! It is much deeper than our old mattress...even higher than most of the bed foot-board!! Was worried about our fitted sheets being big enough, but forgot we had a super-king set (bought wrongly years ago), which fits fine. Will go and search for another one on Monday in Dunelm Mill...what a good excuse to go there again!!
Right off to finish my cross-stitch piccie for Dad (Crimbo). Have been scanning up other charts to sew up for my Sis-IL in Canada (:xmassmile again)...should be quick to do, mainly black with a bit of green and terracotta. Want to be organised and get the Canada parcel posted before the end of this month...so here's hoping I manage it!!
Got quite a bit of tidying up done in the garden today...it even looks as if we care....well, just a bit!:D
Have a good day tomorrow...should rain, so tidying up the house instead!!

I get my 'up top' sports undergarments from Pr*m*rk - they have changed the design to what I initally bought and I'm not quite so sure I like the new style but my most recent purchase was £6 for the 'med impact' one (and I'm not sure I needed anything that secure :rotfl:) could be worth a check out.
B'n'M sounds very interesting but I'm gonna have to ask...what on earth is this store? I can't fathom it out (which makes me think we don't have one in this part of 't' country)

We have a deeper matress too - pocket sprung with a memory foam layer. Amazingly enough, I have found John Lewis do a deep fitted sheet for about £14 (polycotton) which is actually pretty reasonable I've found.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
