I have been trying it for the first time this week and i am finding it no different from Ariel or Persil.
  • I've tried it too. It's pretty good.
  • i use the liquid type. Can't fault it.

  • ive used the one in the green box (sorry i cant remember which type it is) its very nice/good scent ect :)
  • Months ago I tried the Formil colour tablets. I found they washed ok most of the time - I occasionally had to rinse and spin them again after the wash completed, but the biggest problem I had with them was that they didn't dissolve properly in the drawer. That was a nightmare.

Last week I decided I would give the Formil colour liquid a go. I don’t my 1st wash last night with the extra rinse button pressed and a reasonably small sized load (probably just above half) and I had to put them on for another extra rinse and spin after the wash completed as all the detergent wasn’t washer out. The spin caused a lot of suds to develop!!! Overall I'm not very impressed.

Im starting to think it might be a case of you get what you pay for!!

Note: I find a lot of lidl's other stuff much better than the big brand names but washing powder/liquid doesn't appear to be 1 of those.

I'm sure I read elsewhere on here that it was rated as one of the Which best buys for performance & value. Keep meaning to try it myself.

I've read this recently too. I'm using the Formil liquid at the moment (both bio and non-bio) but I'm going to give the powder a try when they've run out as I've also read that it doesn't gunk up the machine as much as liquid.

I can't tell the difference from ariel - that is just getting way too expensive.

  • I'm still using a box of Formil I bought 18 months ago. Wont be using anything else from now on.

Whites and OH's shirts come out a treat.

There was a slight bit of fading in my black towels but I reckon that would happen no matter what I used.

My pink towels are still nice and bright.

  • Ive been using formil coloured for a while now, indeed i find it didnt wash out totally, so I put half in and its fabulous. My whites aren't staying as great as I would like, but then maybe I should get the formil white liquid too!;)

I used it for about a year and had to stop, I thought it was great until the main drain from our house got blocked up and we had to get the blockage cleared. I wondered what all the white stuff was that had gathered around the drain. I thought someone had put cat litter down the toilet . Seemingly the powder dissolves in the machine, but hardens when it reaches the drains and mixes with fats. So I stopped using it. The drains have been clear for 3 years. I use powder and sometimes liquid depending on what I'm washing.
