Hi-any specific dates or is it all of May/all of July? The very cheapest way to get an all-inclusive would be to use the economy airlines (see my 'bargain for 2005' post) BUT this would be Spain-would this be any good (thinking Costa Del Sol, Majorca, Costa Brava/Dorada)?

Also-if you have TWO rooms you miss out on kids reductions-as they have to share with 2 full fare payers to get discount-would you consider 1 room?? Might be able to get a family room with either 1 or 2 separate bedrooms.

Which Airports can you go from? Overall-if you'd consider Spain I think that's the cheapest option but still some good deals for Turkey/Bulgaria. Cheapest time to go will be May-but Id avoid Bulgaria then as not quite hot enough. Mexico-in my opinion not the best idea as it can be stormy during this period. I'm around over Xmas, Shadow (a mates comnig up-beer & home made curry-NO turkey or family do's-bliss) so either post on here or pm me.

Certainly if you choose July & can do spain I'd book nowish to capitalise on the economy airlines flights.

    All the best,

    Chris.

    Hi all,

Just wanted to highlight the benefit of NOT leaving it last minute & utilising economy flights that are cheap NOW (but will increase nearerr the time)-see my reply to 'help in looking for a holiday bargain'.

In a nutshell-usually expensive regional Airport-teeside, 2 adults, 3 childrem, 1 family apartment 9separate bedroom), all-inclusive, Majorca, family resort, private minibus transfer-£1540 total or just £308 per person!

Why wait....do it the 'moneysaving way'!

We'd like to go away in the summer hols as I disagree with pulling children out of school for holidays, but we are very short of cash.

There's 4 of us - two adults and two boys aged 8 and 6.

He finishes work on the 24th July for a fortnight but could probably extend his holiday by a couple of days either way if we found a good deal.

Our closest airports are Newcastle or Teesside, and we wouldn't consider driving long distances as I've only got a small car and he doesn't drive. Leeds, Manchester, Humberside, Edinburgh and Glasgow are all do-able at a push!

We like a family resort with plenty to do for all, but not a heavy drinking/party place. eg I've been to Majorca and loved Cala d'Or, but would hate Magaluf.

Any suggestions? The cheaper the better :D

    Sammypops-1 week or 2?

If you can give me a budget say for self-catering 1 week or 2 weeks, half-board 1 or 2 weeks, all-inclusive 1 or 2 weeks that will help me to find out if its feasible.

My guess is that Majorca maybe or Costa Dorada using economy flights. Post the budgets & I'll see what I can do!

  • I would love to find a holiday during school holidays, from birmingham or east midlands

(either the very end of May beginning of June half term week or after 23rd July)

two adults, three children (6y, 4y, 18months/ infant)
self catering or catered, accomodation of the type you mentioned, i.e. bedroom apartment woudl be excellent

    anywhere short haul?
with kids club a plus but not essential

    budget, but under 1500)

Up to £1000 tops. 2 weeks better than 1 if it's possible on that.

Not keen on half board, but would be interested in both self catering and all inclusive prices.

Other half has never been on an AI deal and is very attracted to all the free beer :D

Probably not a lot of choice but money is tight.

The following is my requirement, all help greatly appreciated :

    CAMPING IN FRANCE (SOUTH PREF.)
    DEP- EARLY AUGUST FOR 14NTS.
    3 ADULTS // 3 CHILDREN (ALL UNDER 9)

No preference on travel, cheaper the better.

Although cost is a factor, good quality and location more important.

    Thanks.
