Which coffee machine is best?

I have a Gaggia (clone) which makes lovely coffee / latte etc but is a lot of effort. The novelty soon wears off! It only now gets used when I have one visitor - it is too slow for more!
I was given a Senseo. OK if you like the style of coffee but the pods go stale very quickly once the packet is opened. The are rather like heavy duty tea bags!. However, you can also use the pods in the Gaggia clone.
I now have a Tassimo. Ideal in that the pods are individually sealed so stay fresh. Quick and easy to use. Needs hand cleaning if you use their Latte as the milk pods make a mess. Nice coffee but costs over 20p a go and double this for latte. Told chocolate is nice but messy but I've not tried it. Also makes nice tea but far too expensive for this.0 -
Without doubt a Nespresso machine the best tasting coffee I have ever tasted."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

We have Gaggia Cubika. I have since February 2008 and love it, the model you have looks a bi different - I guess they have updated it. I make coffee most of the days every morning), and I don't know what would I do without it. Probably would run straight to the shop to buy one!
We went for cubika as it was a little bit smaller and fits fine under the wall cupboards in the kitchen. I know, the other is just a bit higher, but it would have been a struggle in our previous house.
Edit: this is the one we got, but it looks like they might have stopped making it now:

OP i have my moneysaving hat on and have to ask would you use it if you had 1 ? we thought about 1 and after being lent 1 we found we used it once and that was it, it takes a couple of minutes to make a drink
another question is do you have enough worktop space for it ? but i guess that depends on its size,
why not pop into comet/currys and lok at the machines there to get an idea of the size etc0 -
I'd go for whichever machine you can easily get the supplies for.
If your local supermarket stocks Tassimo stuff then go for that rather than one that you cannot get locally.
Then you can pick up new coffee etc when shopping.
Otherwise it may well end up in the cupboard.0 -

Still the same opinion here, but the Red looks ok ( I got a classic last year) and yes you can get Coffee "teabags" from the Gaggia store near home, which are ok, but so are grounds of any old flavour you like. The only down side IMHO is I have the hardest water in this part of England so you need to de-scale every 3 months or so. The red /Classic have got equal Bar only difference is the reservoir/colour.
I don't like the m/c's that expect you to use plastic tubs to suit their inputs and therefore you cannot go to your coffee seller to mix 1/3rd Costa Rica and 2/3rds Arabica my fave or 100% Arabica for OH. :coffee:4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . I've had a Gaggia Cubika for the last 7 years and it does make decent coffee. However, I've recently switched to a Nespresso pod machine. I came across them whilst working in Barcelona a few years ago, where they were very popular. I personally think it makes a substantially better Espresso, which surprised me. The Gaggia is far more versatile, but if you like Espresso, Nespresso is a convenient and consistent option. I saw a Krups manual Nespresso machine on clearance for £60 at the local Currys / PC World megastore last weekend.
The pods are a lot more expensive than normal coffee though, so maybe not the best option for a money saving forum ...0
