Hi all,
I want to buy a coffee machine but I dont know which one is best out of a Nescafe Dolce Gusto or a Bosch Tassimo. Does anyone have any advice on which one would be best?
Thank you

Neither. As per ^^^^ get a Gaggia.
And this forum is for technical computer based problems, not crappy kitchen gadgets! I doubt this subject warranted 2 separate threads anyway!I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Out of the Which magazine. Courtesy of "my Mum"
On another subject - Coffee Machines
In the Which Mag. I had sent when on freebe the best buys were as follows:
90% Gaggia baby class £350 - ground and pods
82% Gaggis baby £250 - ground and pods
81% Magimix 11300UK Citiz & milk £180 - Capsules
79% De'longhi Icona £149 - ground & pods
79% De'longhi perfecta £699 - ground & beans
all had five stars in the taste test except gaggia baby with only four.
Gaggis baby - which.co.uk target online price £259

They'll get merged anyway because multiple posts on the same thing aren't allowed.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Wow! I'm a big fan of quality coffee... but what's wrong with something like this: Premier Black 850ml cafetiere £4.99? Probably much easier to clean too!
Coffee machines essentially just mix two ingredients (or three if they add the milk - I drink mine black anyway)... Is it really worth spending hundreds on a machine for something so simple? It's a genuine question as coffee machines certainly seem to be very popular despite the cost - I feel like I'm missing something!0 -
Nespresso is probably the best espresso capsule system.

No, they force the water through the grounds to create the coffee. It results in better, stronger coffee than mixing in a cafetiere. It's like asking why buy a car rather than a skateboard.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

This board is up to its usual standards of eccentricity!!
Op asks about 2 simple £50 machines and gets told to buy a £350 one...
Believe it or not, thats about £300 more than a lot of us actually care about a hot drink!
Back on topic (if thats even near possible here these days) Op the Tassimo is an excellent machine, early ones lacked power but were revised last couple of years. I believe they were revised again fairly recently. Places like Amazon and Argos often have special offers on them. The decaf. and starbucks cartridges are all you really need. As to the coffee? well you may not be able to bore the people in the pub for hours with how you spent a fortune on the ultimate brew, but if you want something 20 times better than Gold Blend in the cup in about a minute, no messing, I highly recommend it.0 -

I often wonder how long these expensive machines actually stay in use after they have been bought !
I have two cafetieres and mix my own coffee blend .........heaven (and cheap!!)0
