Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Bit foggy here this morning, supposed to brighten up later on. I need to do a wash when I get home tonight, will have to hang it over the airer.
Dinner tonight will be bacon egg chips and beans, nice and easy, and tasty too
Off to work today, which is soooo busy I shall be glad when this week is over, too much to do and too little time.
Jackie O well done to your dd :T, my dear dad once did the same for me when I got sold a duff stereo, he got arrested though
, but he did get me a new one
Sainsbugs delivery tonight with the last of the £12 vouchers, I must admit they have been dead handy, I have got extra bits for xmas with them :T
Ok better got on, have good days all xx

morning all, its freezing, foggy, frosty and still dark
.
Today i'm sorting out the last of curtains, making a list of what i need for DS1's school trip. Think were having risotto or soup for tea hmmm yummy.
OH is packed up and out, the nippers are playing. Apparently they got up because they heard me walking around.
I was going to go to a craft session but think i'm going to stay in instead, the house needs gutting badly.
Have a good day all!0 -
wow i don't think i've ever ade the first page....
tonight i have to finish off a patchwork quilt, sewing on the backng, and a load of buttons, and organise a shopping list, and sort the freezer after returnong from the super cheap shop tonight.
TBH if i just manage to get the back on the quilt and sort the freezer i'll be happy, as the buttons can wait, at least i'll be able to put the sewing machine away...
i also need to get my personal statement for uni sorted aswell... should be fun.
i hope you all have good S days.:):)

Hi everyone!! Am about an hour behind, due to a headache and me spending more time in bed. So when the littlies have gone to school I'll gut the house. Lovely sunny morning here, so will do lots of washing and get it on the line. Finished another christmas present yesterday, so will wrap and label it today. DW on, so I'd better get on. xxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning :hello:
I've got a day off but I'm so tired I don't think I'll get anything done
The animals all need cleaning out and I have a load of Christmas cards to make. And I haven't done any ironing for 2 weeks, mr tru has a couple of non-iron shirts so he's just been wearing those as I wash them, his boss must think they're all he has
I've just worked out that over 4 days next week (wed - sat), I'll be working 44 hours and travelling for 11 hours. That's a very lot of hours, not sure how I'll manage TBHThen for 6 days after that, it's normal shop hours but still 2 and a half hours travel each day. Hopefully, on the 11th day I'll have a day off.
On the one hand, I want the shop to do well. On the other hand, I hope it's a mad rush for the first few days then goes quiet and they tell me they don't need me in as much.
I'll do the animals first then see how I feel.
Mr tru has taken some cards into work, the woman in charge of the gifts dept wants to see them. If she likes them, she'll sell them :T
Oooh meant to say, we saw Prince Charles yesterday, on his way to the Ryder Cup.Bulletproof0 -
Morning!
quiet on here this morning!
2 days off now!:j although theres lots to do as usual.
Have had a good tidy up and swept the floors, need to vac the bedroom later.
Am doing a cauliflower cheese later with an Aldis 39p cauli - not sure what we're having with it yet.
Taking DS to work later and doing my shopping at same time, hope he has a better day today.
(((bemuzed)))
have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Good Morning Everyone! Very quiet on here today, isn't it? After35 attempts I finally struck lucky and got through to the surgery this morning, only to be told that I couldn't see a doctor, only the nurse practioner. Hopefully she'll agree that I have definitely reached the antibiotic stage now!
JackieO - what a miserable delivery man! (At least, we do assume that the lady you spoke to did actually pass on the message.) And good for your DD taking the stand she did.
Have cleaned the coffee table this morning...very little, but does look a lot better!
We are collecting our new border-collie from the sanctuary today! he's about a year old, and called Fitz. (Actually it was Fritz, but we weren't sure our German ex- Daughter Outlaw might feel about that! he is adorable, and seemed to get on OK with our nearly 11year-old, who has been an only dog for nearly 11 months now. We had to be inspected, and I was very worried in case we didn't pass muster!
I need to catch up with this thread as I've totally lost the plot just now.
Do you think my green tomatoes have much chance of ripening on the window-sill now? I suspect I should have picked them earlier.
Need to sort out what we're eating - difficult as food doesn't appeal at all at the moment.
Oh well, stop wittering woman.
Hope you all have a good day - take care!Resolution:

Good Morning All
Tru - you will be fine - will send positive get through thoughts your way for next week.
We have sunshine :j though looks like rained all night!
So far this morning - wm on, dw unloaded, kids sent off to school and have submitted 2 VAT returns. Now having a little surf on here before starting my course.
Havn't caught up with the thread for agesam hoping the weekend is a little calmer.
Having dripping on toast for breakfast in a min - OH thinks its disgusting :rotfl:but I love it.
Thats it for me - think dripping on toast counts as OS doesn't it
Take care all.x0 -
Morning All,
Gorgeous day up here
Happy 5th Birthday to Master Beans!!! Hope you have a brilliant day little man.
DS1 is off school sick, his cold seems to have turned into a nasty chesty cough, its his birthday on Sunday, so he'll need to turn it around pretty quickly, I might postpone the party anyway to be on the safe side.
Well, after my rant yesterday, I couldn't find a dishwasher in the ads, but I have my eye on one on Ebay. I don't really have the space either, and it means losing a cupboard but enough is enough, life is too short for washing dishes. I had one in the previous house but it died, and it wasn't a priority here because of the lack of space. No rush, I'll wait for a cheap enough one, and I know a man who can so if it needs a service that should still save me money.
Well done to your DD JackieO I would love to have the gumption to do that, but I'm afraid I'm all mouth and no trousers :rotfl: I'm also pleased to hear you'll be back to normal today. Well, better than normal, really?
Hugs to all in need, especially Beemuzed and Taplady and son.

Hi everyone!
Busy day here for me, have got to go and wash my hair, then I am off to a school award ceremony for my DD1, then its a 40 mile round trip to take some boots back which I bought yesterday and they are split, what a waste of petrol and time:eek: Then its a race back to pick the kids up from school, so not a lot of time for any cooking or baking today, so dinner will be pasta sauce on spaghetti.
See you all later have a lovely day its sunny here but nippy:)grocery challenge Sept 2012 £21/£3990 -
Morning All!!
Autumn is definitely here, very crisp and cold outside today but nice and sunny with it. :j
Managed to finally make some headway yesterday in the house, didn't quite finish the lounge but that's because I got sidetracked with DD's room (in fairness, it was because there was so much of her junk that needed to be moved from the lounge into her room!!). Anyway her room is loooking fab, and some of those niggling little jobs that I have been waiting for an eternity for DH to do have finally been done (by myself, I might add!!).
Plan of attack for today looks a little like this: Kids are at school/nursery and the dog has been walked. Need to put the WM on, then put some clean clothes away. Then it's into the kitchen for the decluttering exercise to continue in there :T
Hope you all have a good day
