Hi Everyone. My first post in here, is it ok if I join you? :D

I started making some cards as a hobby with a view to sell to friends/family about 6 years ago. I loved it and bought a lot of things, but then we moved house, got married DH changed jobs etc so it all took a backseat. Im currently 3 months pregnant and will not be able to return to my job as DH works away so much so over the last few weeks have decided its time to get the card making stuff back out to give it a try. It wont earn me a living but a girls gotta have a hobby :D

What im looking into is getting a sizzix big shot machine as I think I would love to use it. Anyone reccommend this at all? I have tried looking through previous cardmaking threads and this one but its just so huge! Hope to get some lovely ideas and tips from others here and have a bit of fun making cards again :)

Welcome Cloudberry. I have a bigshot and love it. I got mine from craftsuperstore. I got this deal which is pretty good value as you get a few different dies for it, but there are cheaper ones.

    Congratulations on the bambino too.
Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!

hi cloudberry45 the deal on craft superstore is good ( I bought my new Bigshot from Stampin up and it cost quite a bit more but they have exclusive dies) hope you make some money off your cards, I wish I could give up my job though I am looking at ways to make it happen.

  • Hi All,

Just a flying visit - haven't had chance for a proper catch up yet and haven't even checked out the new release LOTV - eeek I AM slipping.

Good luck with your interview tomorrow rainmac and
Welcome to cloudberry - can't help re BigShot as I'm a Cuttlebug-er but great to hear you're returning to card-making and congrats on your baby news.

    LOTV here I come..
  • Thanks for that Viclspence, that is the exact webste I saw it on, its only £54.99 for the machine alone which looked like a great offer. I love the idea of the other dies to go with it too but dont know if I can justify spending the £99, but its definately a thinker.

Lizalloareds I think if you can find a way then do it! I would be quite happy to stay working where I am after having the baby, but the problem is my hubbie can be asked to go away for work at the drop of a hat and although we both have parents they work and have their own lives. He was in Hong Kong for 2 weeks at the end of May and now hes already in the Netherlands for 7 weeks but coming home at weekends. It makes it hard to plan anything and my work would not be flexible. Plus been off sick for 5 weeks now - hating the effects of pregnancy!

So If the card making thing goes well I would be very happy. And all I can think about is the sizzix machine :D
