Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

OAP - hurrah :j you're connected again - so frustrating to lose it.
Padster - glad DH is not as bad as you feared, hope the dieting works so he doesn't have to have drugs. Don't let him thwart your efforts at giving up smoking.
welshcamper - sorry, I can't help with your card I barely cope with my own.
kms - thanks for the link for the ejection foam will have to get organised & get some.
madfrog & ali.b - as far as I can tell you stick the foam on the cutting side of the die so that the first time it gets cut through and after that the paper can't get wedged into the small holes.
ali.b - I didn't mind you asking, and I can laugh about it now but he was very rude
madfrog - Sorry I'm not going to the NEC don't think DH could do 2 consecutive weeks of chauffeuring (sp) and hanging about while I look round but I'd love to go really. I think Gemma is working on a stall.
rainmac - Most of the stall holders were very nice and keen to show what their products can do - I was entranced by a lady demonstrating building a scene with masking and a brayer and would love to try it if I could get all the right sorts of inks. Sorry your DH's job isn't going well and hope it gets better very soon. How's the job going now you are settled into it? Did DS2 enjoy his extra day at home?0 -
Marg, was that Barbra Gray? if so she entranced me too at the SECC I ended up spending a fortune at her stall but have has so much fun playing with it that it was worth it0

I love Barbara Gray's work. She demonstrates on C&C on the second Sunday of every month. I find it mesmerising what she can do. I've not attempted any of it yet. There is a double ended brush that I've also seen demonstrated which give similar results to a brayer.
Hope everybody is feeling ok (ish) and have a halfway decent day xxx0 -
Hi everyone
We have finally got around to decorating our little spare bedroom and are kitting it out as my craft room :j:j:T:T
We all got fed up with my craft stash being in every single room of the house - nowhere was safe :rotfl:
We have bought 3 work tables from Ikea and they will go along 3 walls in a sort of 'C' shape if you know what I mean and I have a nice comfy swivel chair to scoot around on :rotfl:
We are in the process of putting up shelves [never enough!] and me sorting out my stuff but what I am looking for is a sort of portable desk top that will angle so that I can use it on the work tables but have the project angled towards me at about a 45 degree angle. I often end up making some cards standing up so that I can get everything nicely centred - like matting etc. I have Googled but dont know what they are called or if any of you have one or know where I can get one.
Many thanks in advance :T0 -

Sounds good - I know exactly what you mean when you talk about the desk top thing, but I can't for the life of me think what it's called. It's the sort of table top easel y thing that graphic designers and architects use (if they don't have one of the fancy desks where the whole desktop tilts) I'll probably end up shoutingout the name in the middle of a meeting halfway through the day. I do have a designer friend - i'll ask him.
EDIT - it's now on my FB status, so hopefully I'll have an answer when I get home from work - if you want to see it yourself before I get back ask to be my friend (if you are on FB) - look for Margaret George Jenkins0 -
Mornin Ladies, Just a quickie from me as I'm supposed to be ironing before my Mum & Dad come in about an hour!! Dads upset because his youngest brother died on Saturday and that means there is only him left from his family
Just wanted to say flying_fresian I have done my challenge card and its on my glob, hope its ok x
Will catch up later, glad its been a bit quiet on here0 -
Good morning ladies - there's not much going on here! I'm expecting an order from Bunny Zoe to arrive this morning - I had a little splurge on Sunday. I finally ordered a couple of the new MME pads, and treated myself to a couple of stamps, a border die and some of their new lace, its been a while since I had new things to play with.
Marg - no wonder you were annoyed at the stampman - how rude!!! Obviously they recognise that there was an issue with the earlier design because they've changed it to add the holes, can't believe he wasn't more helpful!
OAP - welcome back!!!! I was without my laptop for a few weeks at the end of last year - I felt lost!!!!
Paddingtondoo - glad to hear that everything went okay with your OH.
Rainmac - hope you manage to get a rest soon and that OH's job picks up!
Fluffyb - I am so jealous - sounds like your craft room is going to be fab!0 -
Yes Georgiegirl that is the one! Thank you so much for doing that.
I will also send a friend request if that is ok. I will put a message on the request so you know it is me.
Thanks Melissa - I am very excited!
Many thanks!0 -

Hi Georgiegirl I think you are after a draghtsmans drawing board. I just tried to find you on Facebook as it is always nice to link up with a fellow crafter. Do you have a black cat as your profile photo?0
