WBR Thats awful, i hope the school take your sons assult seriously !! Whats worrying is if the childs mother is an alcoholic, where has he learnt this behaviour from ? Might be something for you to ask the school. Also why should all the children of non alcoholic parents be put at risk by such a child.. I'm cross on your behalf as ive only just had chance to catch up !!
Rusty.. Hope that you get better soon xxx
Tomsmum Aghhhh i cant believe ive missed your birthday. I hope you had a great day and i will pop a card in the post today. I really MUST put all the dates in my diary.

It's raining here and I think my car is poorly, I've limped it over to the garage and waiting for a phone call
. My fab friends are collecting my kiddies from school
Don't feel I've achieved much today, too worried about my car.
WBR, hope your DS gets on at school ok today and you with what you decided to do about what happened x
Rusty, hope you feel better soon x
Flourgirl, hope your grand-daughter is ok and feeling better after her bump x
Beautiful cake PepPop, must have taken hours and hours
Georgiegirl, I've never tried eyeshadow to colour but it must be somewhat similar to chalks I should think? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Afternoon - it's freezing cold here and very dull looking.
PepPop - lovely cake!!! Have no clue what the person that commented was searching for lol!!!
Rusty - hope you feel better soon.
Marg - hope your operation went well.
Well - i finally got around to doing some heat embossing and I love it!!! I had bought a brand new heat gun at a car boot sale last year for £1.50 and I got several Martha Stewart Embossing Powders in the US really cheap and hadn't yet tried them out!!! W-B-R kindly cut me some bird cages and I've just embossed one in gold and abit of black after colouring the cage in with a gold promarker. I love the the effect, looks like a gilded cage now. Really fab, will be using the technique again!!! Need to make a card now, going to make an anniversary card with it. Thanks W-B-R!!!! I'm going to use one of the lovely Papermania 'Confetti' papers I bought at the Range - they were reduced abit and were so pretty and will go nicely with the birdcage.
Hope everyone is ok today. The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -

Afternoon Ladies. Well meeting with the school was interesting to say the least! Initially the head tried the sympathy card stunt (he didn't divulge details but basically said that not all kids are as lucky as mine and don't come from loving, stable enviroments -hmmmm), so I said that I fully sympathised with that but if things were really that awful at home did the school not have a duty of care towards that child and such should they not be in touch with social services with a view to perhaps removing the child from such an obviously unhealthy situation or at the very least offering more support! I also pointed out that my child was the one who had cuts and bruises from a completely unprovoked assault and that surely any sympathy should automatically be with him? Strangely enough no more was said! He accepted that a behaviour slip was pretty much pointless in this situation and that it was his intention to remove the child from playtimes and lunchbreaks for a period of one week. In addition the boy concerned has had to write a letter of apology and the parent has been informed of the incident. I was given a copy of the behaviour policy and anti-bullying policy to read and digest and have also been invited to pop back if/when I see fit. Most importantly DS went off to school happily this morning, so hopefully this will be an end to it! Thank you all for your advice and support it meant a lot especially on Friday before DH got home. xx
Anyway onto chirpier matters.....
Mary OP - I'll stamp and scan those images - any particular colour you're after?? Can you PM me your email addy.
Georgiegirl - I've used eyeshadows with a high mica content, you can use it as inclusions in glue, for a shimmer chalk effect and mixed with a bit of water for painting
Rainmac - hope your car gets better soon and doesn't hurt your pocket too much x
Rustyget better soon x
PONR - ur welcome hun, glad it worked how you wanted. Looking forward to having a peek on your blog. I bet you will be heat embossing everything in sight - I did when I first learnt how to do it
Hugs to all, might be back later but s'posed to be making cards as I have a class tomorrow and nothing prepared as of yet! ooopppsie0 -
W-B-R - Glad to hear you got to meet up with the head. They still seem to be trying to pass it off though don't they. You could take it further - might be worth going to the next governers meeting and raising your concerns. At least your DS was happy enough to go to school today so that's good.
Yes I loved the embossing effect and I've added chain to the cage also!!! I will try and get the card done this week although not needed for a couple of months yet!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
WBR Well done on speaking up at the meeting with the head, sounds as though you got the message across to him very well.
Rainmac I hope your car doesn't cost too much to put right. It's just started raining here too, can't really complain as we've just had almost a week of lovely sunshine.
PepPop Gorgeous cake, thank you. There might be just enough to go around all of us here!
Rusty Sorry you're feeling poorly, hope you're better soon.
Melissa Hope you feel better soon too.
Georgie I've used eyeshadow the same way as I'd use chalks. Doesn't need to be any particular quality, mine were cheapies.0 -
Rusty - Did you catch DD's bug? Hope you are feeling better soon.

I was lucky to get my heat gun so cheap - don't usually see anything so good at the Car Boots we have around here!!! I loved the effect it gave and it was so easy!!! I bought a clear ink it up pad at the Range for £1.99 but the price came up at £2.50 so I queried it and it was a price increase. I demanded to have it at the price it was marked at as told them it wasn't my fault that they hadn't put the new price tags on!!! They said ok so was pleased about that as the one I was going to get at Hobbycraft was £4.99!!!! I managed to get lovely MS embossing powders in Marshalls in the US for $3.99 for a pack of 3!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
Evening ladies, all this talk of cleaning has made me start tidying the crafty area hmm not much success - magazines in magazine holders and thats about it!!! Not quite sure where to start  at least at the moment I know where everything is - lol
melissa & rusty - hope you are feeling better soon xx
rainmac - ooh glad you had lots of new baby cuddles and hope you get your car sorted soon.
wbr - glad you (sort of) got sorted - fingers crossed nothing else happens xx
Right back to operation tidy up - I seem to spend longer looking at it - than actually doing anything so if anyone would like to come and sort it out I'll gladly send you my addy :rotfl:0
