Making cards - Ideas (part 5)
Comments
-
Evening folks - hope the day went well for you. My crafting session with friends was great and I've posted a card on my bl*g. Have been reading blogs and the posts here for past hour or so.
wanna-b - glad you managed to have a meeting with the head and hopefully more suitable action will follow. Glad to read that your son went of to school happily today.
ali-b - beware tidying up, I did mine last week and I can't find anything now!
mygeorgie - I have classic plain & scalloped ovals and circles and find them really good. Also have Labels Eight which is useful for bigger stamps.
lizalloreds - hope the car scrape doesn't prove expensive - on the other hand at least it wasn't you that had the 'mishap'.
rainmac - sorry your car's poorly - hope the stash ban won't last long.
melissa - hope you feel better soon and get the ribbon chosen for your card.
rusty - sorry youre feeling so rough - get well soon.
The Wife - sunshine! how lovely, send some our way please.
Giggle - well done on the 29p Hobbycraft bargains - enjoy.
PepPop - super cake, bet you had to get up early to bake that.
PONR - Heat embossing is something I'd like to try again. Have had a couple of goes so far with mixed results.
Georgiegirl - Lovely dinosaur card.
Ok then off to play a bit of Scrabble now. Hope you have a good evening.0 -

I'd considered this myself but wondered whether there was any acid in cosmetics that would affect the paper over time. Not so much of an issue with cards I suppose - more worrying for scrapbooking. I even went to the extent of emailing a couple of cosmetic companies to ask but they either didn't want to give me or didn't have the answer.0 -
I'm back still no card though - I can see this is going to be a long evening!!!
Congrats to our latest winner
Melissa - sorry forgot to say in my last post hope you feel better soon. x
Rainmac - ouch!
Marg - hope you are OK?
Padster - LOL at you thinking I was brave, I was shaking and clammy and like you say I'm far older than the head!! Would've preferred DH to do it tbh! If I ain't lost weight tomorrow I'll be amazed LMAOEnjoy your new toy - lucky you.x
Ali - good luck with the tidying. I started and never quite finished0 -
Evening all, I still feel rough today, although it is only a cold so I suppose I should stop moaning! I finished my card earlier, after all that faffing about trying to decide what colour pink ribbon to use I opted to use brown instead! I'll try and post it on my blog tomorrow.
Rainmac - glad to hear you had a fab day yesterday and that Mum, Dad and baby are all well. Sorry to hear about your car.
Georgiegirl2012 - another fab card! Love the footprints around the outside - sorry you had such a "tiresome" day on Saturday!
Rusty - sorry to hear you're sick - sounds like you caught what the kids had - if only we had someone to look after and clean up after us when we're ill!
Wanna-b-rich - glad to hear the meeting at the school went okay and the head treated your complaint seriously. Well done too on keeping your composure - last year my oldest was kicked and punched by two boys - the school didn't even tell us, when I met with his teachers I was nearly in tears out of frustration because they didn't seem bothered at all.
Paddingtondoo - what a lovely OH you have - sounds like a fab deal too - he pays for the laptop, and you pay for the delivery!
Congrats to out latest winner!
Cardpaperscissors - lovely card - really pretty flowers and I love the sentiment.
Mygeorgie - I'm a bit stingy so the first nestie that I bought was a scalloped rectangle set so that I could just cut the inner rectangle out myself so that instead of having to buy a pair to matt and layer I just had to buy one set. The next set I got was scalloped circles and plain circles, I haven't bought any ovals yet, but I plan to. I also bought a square scalloped set, again so that I could cut the inner layer out myself.0 -
Thanks ladies for all your info, so now I know i can use them in my big shot I just need to decide which to buy ( or is that which I should buy first LOL ). Will def take a look at Nellie Sneddon thou!
Thanks all0 -
For those of you who have read the story of my printer - I have returned it, and now ordered 3 compatible ink cartridges online - 2 colour and one black for 33.97.
I happen to have a £5 off when you spend £12 in WH Smitths so I picked up a tin of 24 Derwent Academy watercolour pencils, some paint bushes and an artists palette. Total cost to me £8 and somthing pence. If you are thinking about getting some watercolour pencils or other art stuff, they currently have them on offer in Smiths - their own brand is £7.49 for 36, the Derwent ones were £7.49 for 24.0 -
Hope everyone's okay? My weekend has passed in a blur as i've been bed ridden with Noro Virus
A group of us from work went out Friday night and have all been sick (apparently our IS department was empty today).
PONR I'm actually quite looking forward to tomorow's episode now...Lei - Hope your oh's application to the army goes well. Does that mean you might have to move?
Thanks! We don't actually live together (LDR) and I have a good job I wouldn't easily leave so not sure what's going to happen at the moment. It could be a year though before all his training is finished if he gets in.
Rainmac congrats on becoming an aunty - I saw the photos and he's so adorable. Looks like you enjoyed your cuddles
WBR I can't believe that happened to your son but at least the school have acknowledged it now and hopefully it won't happen again
TomsMum happy belated birthday xx0 -

Did a little tidying up of my papers yesterdau,my OH bought me 2 office drawer type units from LIDL ,£9.99 each ,my paper fits in there flat,so perhaps they will stau tidy now. Each unit takes 5 full packs of A4 paper ,that got rid of a lot of stuff off the top of my desk, now they fit underneath neatly in their little drawers, and the drawers are removable so you can carry them around when I,m crafting.
