    Morning all.

Rusty - alot of our family have those rings too. I used to spend hours playing with it when I was younger! They are lovely.

Trying to get hubbys birthday card done, but my mojo seems to have gone! Hopefully it will make an appearance soon! Male cards are so hard! I want to put some sort of embellishment on it, but cant think what to use. Girls are so easy, you can always use butterflies and flowers!

All this talk of America makes me want to go again. I wasnt into crafting when we went to disney before so never went to any craft shops!

I am now following all the new blogs and have commented on most posts. Sorry if I've missed anyone. There have been some brilliant cards and makes recently, well done everyone. Anyway must be off, got to do some work. Hugs to all. xx

I wanted a puzzle ring when I was a child, but never got one. Now I want a trollbead ring, or maybe some more clogau gold.

I've taken to having C&C on in the background to see the card demos, although, for me personally, I'm not so fussed on all the CD crafting they keep showing. They have had a couple of male oriented examples which I've found interesting. They did one yesterday (polka doodles I think) which very simple but very effective. They stamped a house, and fence and a couple of trees. Then put a post-it mask over the house, shaded the complete background with blue/grey promarkers including going over the fence and trees. Took the mask over, coloured in the house, then used watercolours to paint the trees.

Matted and layered it, then put a straight ribbon along the front of the card, but instead of tying a bow, did 3 little pleats.

If I find my acrylic block, I'm going to attempt a similar thing later. If I can't find it, then I'll use a CD case, and still attempt it.

I'll put it in that place that I know you are reading (thanks for commenting xxx)

I've just fallen in love with a new Marianne birdcage die - well there are 2 designs actually, one is a Moroccan Birdcage and the other is a Tunis one - they are out this month and seem to be £10.99 each. Luvvvvely!!!

  • Hi. I would appreciate some help and advice.

I don't make many cards (I mostly sew) but would like to improve the look of the words and text and make the cards more personal and professional. I have used peel offs, handwritten messages (handwriting not very good!) and printed greetings from the computer and stuck them on but looking through the thread someone mentioned alphabet dies which I think are used in a machine. Could someone tell me a little about these machines and any other suggestions for putting greetings on cards.

    Thank you in advance
