Just looked at QVC and they seem very expensive even in the clearance bit and then they have very high postage on top - am I missing something???The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0

Hello lovelies, some fab freebies digis here and another one here (the cat at the bottom of the page).
I've just seen I won a candy on Bev Rochester's blog - a set of Aquamarkers, 2 LOTV stamps and loads of flowers, a crafty Xmas pressie for me :j
We're going to have a day at home not doing much today. I've got some food shopping to do but no time pressures, hoping to get a couple of cards made too.
Hope everyone's ok, just off to have a look at the QVC site... If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Some of the QVC stuff is not particularly cheap especially when you add the P&P, however, their Today's Special Value (TSV) is often very good. Today's TSV is 120 scalloped cards and envelopes, 20 of 6 different sizes - 330g/m sq (can't do the little 2 thing) for 11.99 or thereabouts. I have ordered 3 sets and with the p&p it comes to about £45. That works out at about 12p per card with envelope.
I don't have a great deal of experience buying basic cardstock but it seemed quite good to me.
And having now been to Lidl to get coloured card, the A3 is very good value for money - 50 sheets for 2.99 and the just bigger than A4, is very thick - 270g/m sq - 24 sheets for 1.99. The only thing wrong with it is that I put my bag on the ground when waiting for my son to pick me up, and now it's a little damp on the very edge, so will need to trim that bit off.
Hoping to finish my friend's engagement card today - will try work out how to put pictures on my blog (which is very pathetic at the moment) and then link it to my mse account.0 -
'Morning everyone.
Welcome Sparrer
Rainmac Thanks for the heads up about the Creativity mag. I knew it was due very soon and had been checking Cutting Edge's site every day for the last week except yesterday when I didn't turn my computer on! Got one now :T.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with lots of nice new craft toys.
We slipped and slid to DS's house for a late Christmas dinner which was very nice, DH had mash, gravy and mashed his sprouts and carrots into it. I picked him out some thin slices of turkey but he found that quite hard to eat. Anyway, it was a lovely few hours.
I'm glad to say that the snow has now gone, we had rain all day yesterday so it seems to have all disappeared :T, I can get out of the house now but can't take Poppy as her Christmas present was coming into season. She will now get a late Christmas present of an operation :rotfl: .
I had a Christmas present of a chest and throat infection, chest very tight and everything is very sore. DH is going out soon and will hopefully get me some Covonia or something, some honey, etc.
I'm off to check out the links to sales you naughty lot have put up!0 -

Ok - I guess 12p is about average, 100 is too many for me though!
The Lidl card is excellent - I bought a couple of packs a few months back and it is lovely and thick and nice colours. I will deffo be trying to get several packs of that this week when I can get there! The A3 sounds good also. Wonder what the glitter pens are like - did you see them there??The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
The DCWV stacks was no where near the sale stuff they where at the end of an aisle right near the top of the store they where marked up full price on the shelve but there was a big orange sticker at the top of the shelve saying everything 50% off to be taken off at the till i found a lot of stuff in the store was the same

One of the reasons I bought so many is that the quilting group I belong to has an exhibtion in September, so I would like to contribute some cards for sale. I'm unlikely to have a table of my own to sell stuff and make money, but hopefully I'll be good enough by then to get some interest in my stuff.
Didn't particularly notice the glitter pens, I only went in for card and envelopes.
I have now completed my pal's engagement card. It's not overly fancy, but I think she'll like it. If anybody wants to have a look it's on my blog, and the link to my blog is on my profile.0
