Hi all, new to posting here, as I am to card making so not exactly your professional sort of queston. Some weeks ago I was given a bag of plain cards and envelopes but put them to one side to 'think about' til after Christmas. Yesterday I was given (yet another) calendar with a lovely glossy picture of English landmarks on each page. I'm thinking they'd make beautiful cards but would like to know what sort of medium I attach them to the card with - stick-type glue was my first idea, or is there something better that you lovely card makers use which wouldn't make the paper 'pucker'?

I'm a big fan of double-sided tape :D Easy to stick things with and doesn't pucker the paper.

If I was going to use pics on a card I would mount the pic onto another piece of card (in a co-ordinating colour) a bit bigger than the pic and then put it on the front of the card using either double sided tape as flying fresian mentioned if I wanted it flat or 3d foam pads if I wanted it to stick up a bit. Foam pads look like this. HTH x

Ladies, hope you have having a lovely Christmas. I've just had a spluge at Cutting Edge Crafts, Grafton Crafts, Whiff of Joy and Sir Stampalot :o:o:o. Got to get me off this computer now before I spend any more  Saying that, Sir Stampalot has a fabulous sale - some stamps are as little as 50p and the new Do Crafts mag is available at Cutting Edge Crafts ;)The Glitter Pot also has a new sale online...

Mad Frog, I know you are on your hols but just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for my beautiful pressies, I loved everything xxx

kms, thank you for the lovely card, it arrived on Xmas Eve xxx

We've had a lovely Christmas thus far, nice day at home yesterday and went to my mum and dad's today. Bit unsettled as my nan was at my mum and dad's and she was so vague and distant. She had a fall a few weeks ago and I think it's affected her much more than just having the bump on the floor. She's always been such a strong and plucky old bird bless her :( We are going to attempt the shops tomorrow as the boys have lots of money and vouchers to spend so we are heading to the Lego Shop, Game and the Disney Store. It's free parking tomorrow as it's a bank holiday ;)

    Hope everyone's ok x

Thank you flying_fresian and rainmac. The double sided tape is logical of course, just one never thinks logically when starting out on a new projuect :o.

I like the idea of foam pads, but in this case the picture will be almost as big as the folded card so I'm thinking some of that very narrow, pretty scalloped edge foil would look rather attractive to fill in the narrow surround. Ooh, listen to me, never done anything like this before and am getting ambitious already...is the the start of a new interest, I wonder? :D

  • Hello again
I'm have come to the conclusion that I'm more likely to be a lurkerer than a regular poster, although that might change yet.

Just wanted to let you know that one of Lidl's offers of the week is stationery, so you might find some useful bits for a reasonable price.

    hope this helps somebody

    Hi all,

This wasn't any use to me, but seemed like a good price http://www.snazal.com/freebook If any of you use clay in other crafts I thought it might come in handy.

If you've not seen the website before, they offer a free book a day, you only pay postage of £2.65. I've used them for ages and check them and https://www.wotnix.com every day - Christmas presents galore came from there this year :D
