We have snow today, we had a small sprinkling yesterday, but today we have had loads! Hope it clears up by Tuesday as DS is taking some friends out for his birthday! My parents are due to fly out to spain for Christmas tomorrow, but at the moment Gatwick is shut. We might be having too extra for Christmas is they don’t make it!

Hugs to everyone. Stay warm and safe. xx

  • Finally, got all my xmas cards out today. Some people didn't get inserts in :( but never mind. I managed to borrow a monitor from someone so most people got inserts. Can't afford to buy one at the moment.

Had bit of a shock as i found out an old friend died yesterday he was only 28! so so sad as he was the kindest man you could ever meet. He was a gentle giant who loved everyone and everyone loved him.

we haven't had any snow here but heard some have had it really bad again.

    Evening all,

Im very new to card making, and just experimenting at the mo. Could someone kindly tell me what size cards i need, for a4 size. Think this is correct terminology, long word for me lol.

    Thankyou, ladies.

    Hi Jinksy

Cardmaking is very addictive..............you will soon be hooked :)

Not sure what you mean about A4 size. Do you want to make A4 size cards, in which case you need A3 size card and fold it in half.

    A4 is 210 x 297 mm and A3 is 420 x 297 mm.
  • Hi

    New to cardmaking.

Just wondering, when making Xmas cards, which are more saleable? Specific cards, for example, "to a special sister at christmas", or more general cards, such as "seasons greetings"?

Am thinking that if people go to the effort of buying handmade cards, they will be for specific people, rather than just run of the mill christmas card list?

    Thanks

PS I guess I am planning for next year, as I have missed the boat for this year! :rotfl:

    Evening all,

I'm sneaking back in as I've been missing in action for a couple of months. I've been so busy with work that I've had to neglect my cardmaking :(

I'm on holiday at the moment and I have had some time to do a few more cards. Sadly I was in a hurry today finishing the last of the Christmas cards today and didn't remember to take photos of them. Oopsie!!

I have taken photos of my new stash though and they will be in the usual place by tomorrow morning. There's quite a lot of it :o

Hopefully you'll take me back after such a long absence. Hope everyone is well.

    Xxx

Morning, sorry i didnt explain very well did i, the size i like, is when an a4 piece of paper is folded in half.

    Thanks Again,
  • Sorry I have just read through and can't remember half of what I have read.

Louby hugs to you that's awful news.

No snow here, we are flying out from Gatwick on Tuesday morning, have just read it has reopened so fingers crossed.

Just finishing off the last of my cards, have a couple more presents to wrap then I am done, then I have to clean the house get all the stuff ready for holiday and OH brother is coming round later to get a key so will have to show them were everything is.

OH is at work this morning, he has just announced we are taking his son and granddaughter out today, so they will just have to tag along while we drop presents off.

I don't know how I am going to fit it all in as we leave Monday afternoon as we are staying overnight in a hotel

Louby - sorry to hear about your friend (hugs)

Mad frog - hope you get everything done and have a fabulous holiday - is it another 'exotic' one? You go to such interesting places. We just about get to the Canaries!! :)

Welcome back Flying Fresian glad to see you!

    Shell820810 - Welcome - sorry I can't help I don't sell my cards

Jinksy - Welcome - Craft shops usually sell suitable card, either card blanks or A4 that you score & fold yourself. A lot of people use the Papermill. Craftwork cards sell blanks on line - all different shapes and sizes. HTH
