Oh my goodness it's freezing!!
We have an all singing all dancing combi boiler with the most complicated thermostat in the world, you have to set it to come on each day of the week etc etc but will it come on in between the times it's set for .... no!! have just spent 20 minutes trying to get the stupid thing to come on... have my fleece on now... oh well will be tucked up in bed soon.
I am fed up scraping ice off my car before I go to work and when I come home again, roll on Friday when I am off, will be crafting in the front room with the fire on full blast me thinks... anyone else fed up with the cold
Emzy you lucky thing my OH wouldn't know what a bigshot was if it smacked him in the face :rotfl: there has been mutterings about me throwing stuff away because the room is now cluttered, I have had to teach him not to come in my craft room so he doesn't get stressed
Wifey take it easy you need to save your energy for your cake diving
It took crafts u love two weeks to deliver my last order, kind of put me off ordering from them again tbh
I am trying to decide on some patterned paper to use in a project I am making, I must waste hours faffing about this every week!0 -
morning
happy late birthday Peppop
the glitterpot have free p&p at the moment so I'll be ordering my secret santa pressie today0 -
Morning everyone,
Tomsmom - Hope oh's treatment goes well
Wifey - hope you feel better soon
Rainmac and Peppop - finally got to the post office, so cards are in the post
I bet the gas companies are loving this countries at the moment, i know my central heating is working overtime! :rotfl:
I read somewhere that this cold front is meant to last till February!!!
I thought i had finally finished my christmas shopping, when my oh's uncles fiance has annouced she will be buying for everyone, so i will need to get her something too, they have only been together for 8 months so i don't really know what to get her, any ideas? All i know is she don't really drink and i don't really want to do the smellies route.
Has anyone wrote their cards out yet? I keep meaning too but haven't got round to it yet, i think i will do it tonight, it is the 7th already! My cards are usually written by the 30th November and posted by the 2nd December :rotfl:
Ooooh i have made it onto the crazy challenge design team! So chuffed about that. The challenge this week is 'All i want for christmas is you' pop over and enter.0 -
Well done on your DT post KMS :T. I haven't written my cards yet except four that go overseas, I managed to get out and post them this morning. My last Amazon order arrived today :T, just waiting for a couple of Ebay ones now and that should be my Xmas shopping done :j.
Difficult to suggest anything for your OH's uncle's fiance seeing as you don't know much about her. Can you ask the uncle for any clues? I'm glad I'm past new people popping on to our Christmas list, in fact we've had to give some people the chop since we've stopped working as the budget doesn't stretch so far. We've stopped buying for nephews and their wives but do still buy for their children.
If you know anyone old enough they'll tell you the winter of 1947 was a real bad one. My brother was born in January '47 and he was three months old before my mom was able to take him out in the pram . Hopefully it's not going to be that bad this time.
Wifey Sorry to hear you're unwell and on the steroids again. Hope you feel better soon.
MadFrog I'm like you with boilers. We have a Vaillant and I thought I was the thickest person around when it came to the timer! OH has left it on "all day" as he's not around at the moment to fiddle with it, but all I know is that if it goes off and I want it back on I can just press the "function" button and it comes back on. That's good enough for me :rotfl: .
It must have warmed up a bit here. When Royal Mail parcel man came this morning he said it was only -4* this morning and yesterday it was -10* where he started off from which is about 8 miles away. We just have a bit of ice on the path in the garden now and the pavements seem to be fine so I've been out with Poppy, walked to the post office and ended up on the beach.
It took DD an hour to do a 15 minute journey this morning, she lives in the West Midlands.
Keep warm, stay safe and hugs to everyone.0 -

Sept - £110.80/£150, Make £5 a day in Oct challenge = £50.50/£1550 -
Well done on making DT KMS:j
Happy belated birthday PepPop sorry I didn't get a card sent to you.
I haven't even finished making my christmas cards yet let alone posted them it's all coming round to fast for my liking.0 -
Show off Tom's mum - you can have some of our ice and snow if you like - it's still over the top of my wellies down the garden and the pond is frozen solid other than one little tiny bit where the pump fills it back up. Our lane now has about 6 inches of solid ice on it and it took OH 30 mins to get out the drive this morning.
Wanna B - OH says that the motorway round S!!!!horpe is fine. I'm not sure what the rest of it is like but there were no buses running again this morning which should give a bit of a clue.
Sorry I didn't get a card in the post Peppop but I did send an ecard - the rate I'm going most people will be getting xmas ecards as wellStill have about a dozen to make although I did slide to the post office earlier to post the first batch at vast expense. Note to self - make more flat ones in future :rotfl:
Well done on the DT post KMS - is Nataliya from OSAAT on that one?Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Just subscribed to this topic, and slowly reading my way through some of the previous 4 Making Cards threads and finding some useful information on some of the links.
I haven't made many cards, and certainly haven't sold any yet, but would love to think that I could be good enough to do so.
So thanking you all in advance for any help/tips/suggestions I may gain from your previous postings and those yet to come.
I did make some cards many years ago, but patchwork took over so about 3 years ago gave nearly all my stuff to my neice and my sister. Now I'm having to re-collect - it's such a chore having to look at all the lovely craft stuff - NOT:rotfl:0 -

I've made a couple and they are viewable on my FB page, I'll have to put them on flickr so that I can post a link. I did start a blog as well, but can't remember what I've done with it, and Lord only knows if I'll manage to find it, and if I do find it, if I will work out how to put them on there.0
