Snipped you flourgirl sorry
Marg your little tale made me smilebut I can imagine how uneasy you must have felt standing there. A bit of a dissapointment though when you realise you have been passed over for a younger model lol
No worries! after all these years I'm used to being passed over.:rotfl:Thinking about it I'm probably just about old enough to be her granny!
Just been to the chippy for tea and going to do a bit of ironing & have a cuppa and a lovely pink cupcake I got from the beauty salon. I went 'cos they were doing mini manicures to raise money for the Breast Cancer appeal.0 -
:jYAY! :j kms :j Congratulations :j

Marg . Hope you enjoyed the cake. I did the ironing this morning 3 baskets full i really must do it more often it doesn't go away i've waited.
Thank you ladies for all the kind comments re the lantern incident i'm glad i'm not being mean. My son said i was more restrained than he would have been lol.He moves them on from outside the toby he manages and he's phoned the police to them too he said people go in complaining about them hanging around outside and elderly customers feel threatened by them. He said we were never allowed to go begging like that if we wanted anything we just asked you. His g/f said he's a spoilt brat.lol.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

flourgirl, we had dinner at the table tonight and it was lovely, so much nicer than our old kitchen table. Last night me and OH had carbonara on our laps as we were both shattered and wanted the comfort of the sofa

Evening ladies.
Sorry no to have visited for a while but I do read often just don't post much. I am over on a few other threads at the mo in the run up to christmas.
Half term has been very expensive, went to Bristol on Wed for DD's 1st pointe shoes.....£60, that's a LOT of paper, think of what I could have spent that on! Cinema in the evening, Despicable Me, was quite good I thought.
DS went indoor climbing today, totally whacked & had a powernap on his return & I managed eventually tonight to get my Take That tickets.
OH birthday today, I barely seen him, prob for 2 hrs max!
I know some of you have not had the best news of late & I wish you all well.
Hope everyone else is feeling good.0 -
Evening all. I've been trying to keep up on here this week and I think I might just have suceeded. The Range opened down the road from us today and it would've been rude not to visit! Anyway, I got 10 sheets of 12 x 12 glittered vellum in pack for 79p - I showed my friend who runs a craft shop and she laughed and said I'd got a complete bargain as it should've been per sheet! It looks they put out the wholesale pack instead of individual sheets. Just a quick reminder too that I have a £30 voucher giveaway on my blog.
Talking of blogs is anyone else having issues with uploading pictures? It's taken me an hour to load one image (have given up in dsgust and resorted to Photobucket). Also my reading list has vanished and refreshing the page isn't solving it
Rainmac - congrats on your win, glad your furniture arrived
Flourgirl - I love Willow's countdown calendar
Rusty - glad you enjoyed your visitors, enjoy the craft show if you get there
Jellybaby - hope it all went OK
The-Wife - If you use super think card and it the printer starts to object by saying no paper fed, just place another piece of card behind it or put a little pressure on the top of the card (almost force feed it) and that seems to work! The cartridges last ages and the only rpl ones I've bought so far have been the Tesco own ones (the originals seem a reasonable price from Tesco, but I will be having a look round this week as my black ink is low, so will post if I find a bargain).
KMS - congrats on your GDT, your card was fab
Gemm - glad work went ok
Padster - your ATC is in the post and should be with you tomorrow (sent it in such a rush, in the hope you'd get it on time that I left a few bits on the side that I meant to send, so will post them seperately). I hope it gets there in one piece.
Craftygranny - sorry to hear of your incident, I too was bought up to respect people in general (not just my elders) and I hope I've done the same with my kids. The sad thing is those kids probably have no respect for themsleves and so wouldn't have a clue how to respect others.
Marg - enjoy your cake (I snuck a slice of homemade coffee cake today skipped breakfast and lunch so that I could though)
Madfrog - sorry to hear your news, hope things went well.
I hope I've not missed anyone out, if I have huge apologies. Have a fab weekend all. x0 -
Crazy day here so just flying in before bed.
KMS Well done on your GD spot.
Jellybaby Hope your op went well.
Rainmac Well done on your win :T. Enjoy Centerparcs.
Addams Well done on your win too :T.
Gemm Glad you're liking the new job.
Skiergirl Condolences to you and your family.
Hope I've remembered everything I've read, probably not as I've a head like a sieve :rotfl: .
For those who buy Creativity mag, Cutting Edge Crafts have put the new issue 24 on their website today, there were about 180 left when I ordered mine half an hour ago.
OH has been to see a consultant today about his massive hernia which he's had for almost a year and is causing him much discomfort. He wasn't able to be referred before during his recovery from his bone marrow transplant as he was too weak to withstand surgery. Now he's fit enough he has this new lump in his neck and is waiting to see if his lymphoma has come back and whether he needs more treatment. If he does he'll be too weak again for the surgery.
So, because they didn't refer him earlier in the year to get him put on the waiting list, he is now in dire need of getting it sorted NOW because of the pain and the fact that he may have to go through treatment again. His GP told him the NHS list is very long here so to get it sorted quickly he's had to pay privately for a consultation today and he's booked in for private surgery next Tuesday. The hospital is 60 miles away and he wont be able to drive back and as he has to leave here at 6.30am he's having to go there and back by taxi which is going to cost £120. So with today's consultation fee, the taxi fare and the cost of the op and hospital we can kiss goodby to at least £1200 . Oh well, I did tell the kids we were going to spend all their inheritance :rotfl: but would rather it have been on a holiday!
Right, moan over. Time for bed. Hope you all have a great weekend and the weather bucks up a bit for us all.0 -
Morning all, going to try and make some cards today - I feel I havent done any for ages - sort of lost my inspiration :-(
Tomsmum - hope all goes well for your hubby - you would think with what he has been through and the reasons why he didnt get referred earlier that they would put him to the top of the list???
Catch you all later xx0
