Speaking of being on a stash ban, I got this today in the post! I got the tool, four heads, the cutting mat and four packs of thread from QVC for about £15 which seemed like a good price. I don't have any skills with a sewing machine so I'm hoping it's as easy as it looks :D

Rusty, Paul's doing OK at the moment, mostly good days and one or two bad ones. We will know the results of his last scan on Friday 13th Jan. fingers crossed for a good result.

I didn't know about those dies, I'll check out their site in a moment. I've got quite a few Spellbinders that I just haven't got round to using yet, you know what it's like, last minute card so you reach for the stuff you know. I've only used one or two of the Edgeabilites so far.

This ruddy Apple mouse will become a satellite very soon, look for it overhead. I'm sure it moves as I put my hand near it.

I have heard very mixed reviews, some say they are fab, and others hate them, I wanted one, but have held off for so long!! I recently bought a dressmakers wheel which leaves impressions in the card, its fab and I dont actually use any thread! Used it on card but dont look too closely as I slipped LOL

I thought it was worth a go for the money - if I don't get on well with it I'll pop it in a jiffy bag for you to try ;)

My order from Crafty Emma's came today too :o I really am on a stash ban - these are all pre-ban purchases :D

  • Hello, can I Join?? New to card making decided to start New Years Eve after having no hobbies. I have a lil girl and never go out so this should stop me from being bored!!

I got the magazine 'Lets make cards' I got a really good kit with it, so far I've made 4 cards. Not brilliant but I guess I can only get better in time. I bought £30 worth of bits in Hobby craft all on sale. Mainly Christmas bits. (Sorry not used to the terms for things yet still reading up on card making :D).

I want to buy a guillotine, where would be the best place to buy one of these? Also a bone folder? Not sure what a good price is. I bought a craft knife today from the Works for 99p. Sorry I have so many questions lol. What are the essential tools for card making? I am also thinking of subscribing to 'Lets make cards'.

Can you give me any tips? I am a heavy handed person which isn't good and can't line things up at all lol so I've put the paper on my card wonky lol. I am reading through the previous threads just slowly and thought I would pop in to say hello!!

Good to see you here Kellylouise, pop back often as there's plenty of info appearing, if we find anything good, we post about it here.

As for a guillotine, I can't remember who made but there is a small one on the market, it's pink, I think. I bought a Purple Cow and it's absolutely hopeless if you want to cut something small. Great for kids though as there is no sharp blade. Treat yourself to a steel ruler for using with your craft knife.

Ebay is always a good source for anything crafty, it works for me as my nearest craft shop is about 45 minutes by car. If you've got one local, check out the prices and remember that you are not paying postage.

Have you got a printer ? We often post about websites where there are freebies to be had. What are your likes and dislikes? If there is anything in particular you are looking for, pop back and let us know.

Before you commit to 'Let's Make Cards' check out the other mags. Also, join Splitcoast stampers here it's free and loads of tutorial, help and inspiration. Loads of UK posters on there. Don't forget to check out our blogs, right click under our names.

    Hope this helps. :D

:D that's great, Willow, we're all here to help :D

kellylouise, I found this on Ebay, a small one that looks interesting. Don't go for a really cheap trimmer, it might not cut card and they can be a waste of money.
