Tomsmum - I've only heard today the sad news that your husband lost his brave fight and offer you and your family my heartfelt condolences. I do so hope you found the strength to say your tribute to your husband at the funeral..... I hope it will be a comfort to you in the coming days. It would matter not one whit if you faltered.......but that you tried will mean so much to all those present. ((Hugs)) xxxxx

Madfrog - Have you checked out flourgirl's recent wedding invitations as they were black? - I'm sure she said where she'd got it from but can't actually remember where.......(doh!)

Artydoll - sorry to hear you've got to have surgery and wish you well for it when the time comes and that there wont be any grim after treatment.

Sorry everyone - I've got masses of post holiday tasks to deal with and whilst I've read up to date I'm never going to remember it well enough to respond to all the posts so am sending ((hugs)) for speedy recovery to the poorlies, 'well done' to all winners and belated birthday wishes where I've missed anyone. x

Thank you all so much for good wishes and positive thoughts. I managed to get through my tribute, I had a bit of a wobble in the middle but my lovely d-i-l came to my side and put her arm around me and somehow I found the strength to carry on.

If a funeral service can be beautiful then it certainly was. The view facing us from the window was beautiful and comforting (we were quite high up in the Welsh hills looking down over the hills and valley), I had a picture coffin for hubby (a nature lover and scenery mad!) with a Highland mountain scene which with it's autumn colours fitted in perfectly with the autumnal view from the wall to wall window. Entry and exit music was Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward so that added a special something too. Even a bird of prey flew past during the service which was so fitting as hubby loved birds and could identify any species of birds of prey in flight at a fair distance.

Sorry, so off topic but I couldn't help myself.

Life will settle into a new routine now, I've just got to get used to it. Lots of things to sort out but once everything settles down perhaps I'll get around to tidying up my craft desk and maybe feel like starting making cards again. Probably not Christmas cards but maybe the new year will bring renewed interest for me.

Thank you all so much again for listening to me and for your kind thoughts, condolences and postive vibes. You're such a lovely lot.

I'll pop by in a while and try to catch up and join in again.

    Hugs to you all.
